quote:Don't sweat that or listen to the OT. No one has ever been the guy that was going to be offered a job but the hiring manager decided against it because he/she didn't get a thank you email.
Question, should I do a thank you email Monday morning?
It's not necessary, it won't make any difference in whether they make the offer or not.

Thanks shel311. Totally makes sense. Guess I'm just really hoping I get it. Its in a part of the country I've always wanted to live.

Slight hijack, any of you baws ever send a thank you email for a state job? I've interviewed with them several times but they don't seem to care about that sort of thing.

I work for the state and I sent one before I was hired. I think shel311 has a good point though. Its probably not going to be the deciding factor

Send it now. It won’t affect their decision though.
Godspeed. Hope you get it.
I’m up to 4 rejections from 2nd interviews.

Very true.

Should have sent a hand written thank you right when you finished the interview.

Haven’t heard anything.
Is this normal??
They are probably waiting for your thank you email. You should send one now and be waiting for that call.
For real though it is very frustrating how common this is and how it is considered acceptable.

Instead of a thank you letter, think bold. Send them an email asking the color of the walls and flooring as you're currently assembling the pieces for your new office there.

You should have done it that night. Do it now.

No, they're overrated. People are busy, no one cares if they get a thank you email. It's a tool for someone who didn't have a good interview and wants to brown nose.
It's kind of like tipping at the drive through. Sounds like a thoughtful idea, but you'll feel like an idiot after.
