Houston is getting overlooked. We have a lot of people on this board in Houston. Houston might get smoked too. Should probably get the admins to fix this thread title.. since it won't be snowing anyways.

This is one of the cases I find the NAM really useful. At least in getting the surface temps near correct.

So you are leaning toward the NAM being closer to being accurate at this point?

Lake Chuck is boned too. Basically I-10 from a little west of Houston to Mobile should be keeping an eye on it.

If we getting ice or freezing rain I guess will be determined upon the timing of any precip

Im pretty confident you get freezing rain for a period. Its probably going to not have enough time to refreeze into sleet. The question is how much, and specifically how much while subfreezing.

Early before sunrise Friday to Friday afternoon.

This won't necessarily happen but anywhere in pink could get some ice. This is as deep south as you can get.

hopefully 0.0 while below freezing. I will take all the snow possible but to hell with any freezing rain, sleet or any ice in any form. That is when things get miserable.

Really glad to see it come off of those 1"+ totals. That shite was setting up to be just ridiculous.

A few previous runs seemed determined to have a heffy swath of one inch or more of ice. I'm betting we see a bit of a downward trend even from where it is now.

Shiiittt, 3/4 of an inch of freezing rain is still catastrophic. Hell, a tenth of an inch would be a problem.

Space City Weather isn’t concerned about it right now. When they get concerned, Houston gets concerned. Until then, nothing to worry about.

For some reason COD isn't letting me copy images of model runs on mobile. So, I have to screen cap and crop.
