They had to do something. The python bounties backfired, as trash just set up snake farms to breed them by the thousands and collect money for their carcasses. It made the problem much worse.
The same thing happened in India when they started a bounty program for cobras. People started illegal breeding operations to cash in. When they ended the program the breeders turned their snakes loose, making matters worse.

People that bend the rules to make a quick buck ruin everything. We should eliminate those types of people.

A snake is a snake, no matter what it does or doesn't do. Personally, I'd rather eliminate Democrats instead of snakes. Wait....that's the same thing, isn't it?

They look like Indigo Snakes which do the same thing and are native to the US. They also get to be about 8ft. long

Hey, I was a fan of Louisiana hippo farming. Had we done that a century ago think how muck more meat you get from a hippo than a gator.

Eventually every single ecosystem on the planet will contain just the same invasive type of everything, and then the world will be perfectly balanced. That's when the real profit begins.

considering the recent events in Minnesota, is this really necessary? does everything HAVE TO be made political?

History repeats itself. India tried that and got the same result with cobras.

GORK: "Clutch Size: Females lay 12–36 eggs on average, though clutches can range up to 100 eggs in rare cases."
A live bait program with rats and rabbits with a Tylenol payload is the only thing that will work. That wouldn't be much risk for mammals and birds, but native snakes would take a hit too.
Pythons eat other snakes too.

At the same time, trap the biggest, baddest mf'ing gators in LA, AR etc.
You realize Florida has one of the largest alligator populations in the States. They don't need to go to another state to find them. Also they are have big ones.
quote:
Caught in Lake Washington on November 1, 2010, the current record holder for longest alligator is a 14’ 3 ½” specimen. The gator was caught as part of the statewide harvest program and had a head that measured nearly two feet (0.6 meters) in length. It weighed 654 pounds (297 kilograms) when it was measured.

They said the pythons are taking them out. May need reinforcements.
