snakes don't chew, they swallow whole, so the best case scenario leaves you with 2 dead snakes, one being eaten (python) and one doing the eating (mussurana
They would in theory eat the young pythons but that wouldn't accomplish much.
A 3 foot king snake can easily eat a 2 foot snake. It's honestly pretty impressive to see.

they need to put a bounty on them, let the rednecks and coonasses do what they do best and eradicate those mf'ers by any means necessary.
At the same time, trap the biggest, baddest mf'ing gators in LA, AR etc. and release them into the glades after training them and getting them a taste for python meat. Breed and feed the nastiest, meanest gators. roid them bitches up with some HCG and gator 'roids and then release them.

Visited St.Maarten island recently and asked if they had any venomous snakes. They replied they have no snakes after they brought mongoose to the island. Not sure what the mongoose are eating now but we did see one in the wild. Wonder how mongoose would do in Florida?
Japan imported mongoose to one of their islands plagued with vipers. It didn't work for various reasons and the mongoose found eating other prey was a lot easier decimating local wildlife. Mongooses are primarily diurnal, meaning they are active during the day and rest at night. The vipers were primarily active at night.

Wrong. They will eat all of the snakes good and bad. Then they will turn on each other until only 1 is left.
Better be careful with that one because he’ll be the badass king of all snakes.

There’s one less snake in the glades as of Monday night…

unless they can get to the same size as pythons, how does this help with what Florida is battling with pythons?
Pythons are small enough when hatched. Very few make it to monster sized.

The reason this would be ineffective is that Burmese pythons grow to lengths of 6-8 ft. in the first year, so they become too big to eat too quickly. It would have a more harmful effect on the smaller native species.

How many times does this have to happen before the smart people figure it out?

…also South Florida already has Brooks kingsnakes, which grow to 4-6 ft. and feast on other snakes. If snake-on-python predation were a viable solution, Brooks kings should be thriving given the ample food source in the area. But they can be pretty hard to find - they were my main target this trip…I found 122 snakes but zero Brooks.

As an added bonus they could also eradicate annoying tourists

If I lived in a more rural area with a lot venomous snakes around, I'd buy a bunch of king snakes and rat snakes to release around my home.
last week we saw a dude in my neighborhood pull over, grab a rat snake out of the road and toss it into his jeep and drive off
I like a helpful snake but I’m tossing one into my truck and driving around with him

Funny how we never seem to learn.
I can think of one animal that seems to be a net positive to the US: Pheasant. They seem to provide great recreation through hunting and I haven't heard of any negative side effects.

What about releasing these snakes but they are sterile?

They had to do something. The python bounties backfired, as trash just set up snake farms to breed them by the thousands and collect money for their carcasses. It made the problem much worse.
