The last Saints payment was in December.
Jeff Landry replaced almost the entire LSED board in early January.
The two sides are in Lease negotiations over a very long term deal.

Yeah, a lot of the OT apparently has never been engaged in any large negotiations. LSED wants to up the rent. Saints say ok show us the specifics on how this number was reached. LSED we want more money. Saints where are you getting these numbers. LSED we want more money. Saints with the main bargaining chip they have, we won't pay until you give us the documentation for us to review. LSED using their bargaining chip, no upgrades for the blender until you pay us. Saints, show us the documents and we will pay you. LSED, leaks story to media to make NFL/NBA owner out to be withholding money for undisclosed reasons. Saints, leaks that LSED has been withholding documents for months so they withheld payment and it will all be rectified once they get the documents.
I don't like Gayle as a business owner because of some mishandlings with the Saints and Pels, but this from the 20,000-ft viewing point is just La government doing La government things. Our government has never half-assed stuff and ensured their families and friends got paid and then tried to screw over businesses to the detriment of the state before...nope never.

Green Bay is a subsidized team.
The Saints are one of the smallest market NFL teams. They will probably leave New Orleans one day unless the market expands.
