Yeah, if you can prove self defense that doesn't matter

You also have to be cautious of people who make illegal right turns on red at St. Andrew. (what the red car is actually doing in the picture)

because they were there when he was pulling up (hence he stopped) and they pulled away as smith was hitting him. 20 seconds later they were long gone.

The video shows nothing anywhere near the front of his vehicle. So the cars either magically disappeared, or they weren't there at all.

Which angle are you talking about? The angle looking at the intersection?

Because that angle needed to start about 18-20 seconds before it did to give us any information on whether Hayes stopped for a reason or not.

Ok so we dont know exactly what happened once they stopped and confronted each other. If Smith brandished a gun then this maybe another story.

Also, yes I bet he goes to jail for shooting Smiths' wife at the very least.

Judge, let the record stand there is a full 150 feet from in front of where Hayes abruptly stopped to the stopping point of the intersection where the light is. Man, that's a lot of rooooom Judge.

I haven't looked up the LA statute, but many stand your ground laws allow you to unintentionally shoot a bystander when reasonably defending yourself.

People in this thread keep harping on the fact that Smith's wife was shot. I don't see how that has any relevance whatsoever with relation to a self defense claim.

From what I've seen Hayes had money from cops killing his dad. But continue with your hypotheses.

Was Hayes even supposed to be carrying a gun?

I thought I heard somebody say he wasn't legally allowed to have a gun.

You realize that when you're following a vehicle, you must leave room for you to stop if they slam on the brakes?

Hayes didn't slam on the brakes and Smith had plenty of time to stop.

he had no felonies - the previous charges were all drastically reduced. so unless it was part of the plea, he could.

The video that WWL has clearly shows other vehicles stopped at the light.

It matters. So stop. You are willfully ignorant so maybe be quiet. You can't shoot innocent people because you got spooked.
