He was wearing cowboy boots that we had to remove to get him into a gown. He was not wearing socks and apparently had been wearing his boots for days because when we took the boots off. His feet and lower leg up to his boot line were completely white, covered with layers of fungus and dead skin. The smell was indescribable... the only time that I went NOPE, walked out, and wrote orders for the nurses to clean him up.

Stepped off of Bourbon St into a puddle once. Tried for days to get the smell out of those shoes. Had to toss them. As a rule, I still have yet to wear another good pair of shoes if there's a chance I end up there

“Rotten potatoes”
It’s amazing how bad they smell to have so little odor they have when they’re fresh.
I didn’t experience this,a nurse co-worker told me about it.A little ancient black lady came to E.R. with complaint of “leaves growing out her Virginia”.
Sure enough she had a vine with leaves hanging out.
What happened was she had a prolapsed uterus so she stuck a potato in her vagina for a pessary.Forgot about the potato and it started sprouting.
They put her on an exam table with her feet in stirrups,Dr.on a stool pulled it out with delivery forceps,when it came out the Dr.fell backwards off the stool on the floor trying to get away from the smell.
Nurse said it would have been funny if the smell hadn’t been so horrendous.

Other people’s puke. I can be around dead rotting stuff no problem but if I smell someone else’s puke along with the sounds of throwing up I’ll start.

When I was a kid I could not go inside a bakery… example : to pick out a birthday cake… I would instantly get sick and vomit from the smell.
I don’t get sick anymore but it does turn my stomach a few.
