Should it have escalated to this point? No

Do I buy that she was Ms Innocent, made a "joke" and was cowering? no

Can anyone tell definitively from the video whether there is water in the pot? Doesn't appear you can to me.

It appears that she ducked down and wanted to ambush him as he was rounding the corner.

It doesn't appear to me that this woman wasn't in a state to actually be sane enough to ambush anyone. I don't think she had such a plan. It wasn't like she chose to go there on her own. She was pretty out of it. Look how she struggled about the ID. She wanted to show them papers.

It appears me this was a disturbed and paranoid woman that was in need of help, because she was scared and these cops escalated to 100 over a comment they misunderstood. It appears to me once they drew closer with guns drawn she panicked. I mean in a way I almost don't even fault it. It's absurd they were coming at her with guns over this. I mean she said sorry twice, held her hands up with the mitts and seemed pretty genuine about it.

Looks like she just freaked out as they drew closer. Again what's going to happen after a pot is thrown at their feet? She had such bad positioning she wasn't much of a threat to begin with.

The cop needs to use his fricking sane brain. If he even has one. Just back up. None of his reactions were necessary. They put her in that position, so if they don't trust her around hot water then they shouldn't have asked her to do that. They should have given her more patience after putting her in that position. That is on them IMO. I would not be looking for a reason to test her.

It wasn't as if she went to the pot on her own. It wasn't like she took the pot and then went towards them. She took it to her sink. Just back up and let her be if you are so scared, but don't go pulling guns on her after you put her in that position. Don't get your feelings hurt when she says she rebukes the idea that you don't truth her. That is not a threat and did not warrant the freak out by the cop.

And if you don't trust her, don't go forward looking for a reason to blow her head off. It's not like she had a gun. Or even a pan you can grip and do more with. It's a large pot that I believe required two hands for her to hardly hold.

If there was a gun on the counter (a much greater threat) no way do most cops just push forward. Definitely draw a gun, but give commands there.

Dude did not have to go officer badass on a mentally disturbed woman that just moments before was thanking them for coming to help her. He was annoyed the moment he got there. He was pretty sarcastic to her when he first arrived.

I watched a standoff outside in the woods during the night with a guy holding a gun and several cops standing around him trying to talk him down. I remember the main cop attempting to talk him down literally said, "We are here to help you and we will stand out here all night if we have to for you to be safe." They told him they were in no rush. And this guy was cursing them out calling them all sorts of things. They talked to this suicidal guy for over 30 minutes straight. Again he had a loaded gun. They continued to just tell him don't raise the gun towards them. Eventually he would go on to raise the gun and they ended him, but it sure would have been nice if these cops gave her the same type of patience. Especially considering she never actually threatened them. She never really turned towards them in a threatening manner (prior to them escalating.)

All he had to do was wait it out. Assure her they were only there to help. Unlike a gun or any other type of weapon at least the water would eventually go cold.

We'll never know what would have happened, but I feel like had he just stayed calm she would have came back to the living room without the pot and they would have been on their way. I've seen cops take way more verbal abuse and actual threats from crazy people than what she said.

It's so ridiculous.

Anyone else surprised that another muhdeepstate mouthbreather doesn’t see anything wrong with agents of the state killing people in their own homes, after calling 911?

I will ask again - have you actually watched the full speed video?

I've already answered that question in this thread.

Here’s a tip Junior, rarely are these situations exactly how they seem when the video first drops.

Well, rarely does a department arrest and charge an officer with murder less than 3 weeks after an officer-involved shooting. Yet here we are.

Rallying the troops because you can’t handle a friendly disagreement?

I’m not debating the guys guilt or innocence. I didn’t even watch the video. I’m just tired of the public getting whipped up into a lather over these things to the point where the jury has no choice. That is not justice.

don't see anything from the video that leads me to believe that she was about to toss boiling hot water on the police officers.

It looks like she did throw the water.

Still don’t think he should have killed her. They should have packed up and left before this.

The troops are all on the same side here. Everyone thinks this was unjustified.

Shocker. Here comes the backtracking.

Fair point however the political climate being what it is these days definitely makes not doing so a potentially painful decision.

pull out the guns

The reason to draw guns needs some clarification and training. I know officers have been murdered walking up to vehicles and homes, and If a gun is suspected it’s an obvious choice. Once drawn the likelihood of reacting to sudden movements by pulling the trigger has increased with cops on edge and training cut (that reaction is not always wrong when gun involved or suspected). This situation didn’t seem to merit the escalation of drawing & pointing gun. Get ready to take her down with a baton or taser especially with 2 cops present here. If only 1 cop it still seems like an over reaction to even draw and point gun in this situation, but at least I can better see how being on your own inside an unknown house at night on a call for a prowler with a crazy lady talking about rebuking you would be more concerning to an officer (still shouldn’t be firing it in this situation). With 2 cops and that lady drawing and aiming gun didn’t make sense.

Anyone defending this cop is either a moron, a racist, a bootlicker, or all of the above.

Open border is a problem regardless of who illegal aliens are murdering. I’ve always maintained however and I’ll say it again now, I’ve never had a negative interaction with a Mexican and to the contrary most have been great. Same goes for immigrants from Africa.

Curious though, how many refugees are you sharing your mom’s basement with?

Why you so salty, I figured you’d be in a fabulous mood considering they just found a cure for aids.

Oh yes, because taking your eyes off of a subject who clearly means to harm you is a great idea. Let's just give her time to get something more deadly.

Or pulled a gun out of toss range, and told her to drop it.

How do you know how far she could toss that?

Seriously, some of y'all will turn yourselves into knots to blame the police for anything.
