Do I believe she posted that? I have no reason to believe she did or did not post that comment. I don’t know her personally or anything about her and her beliefs.
What I can say confidently, is that people do and say dumb shite all the time and that they don’t always think about the consequences. It even happens when elderly people just don’t give a shite because they’re old, stuck in their ways and suck at technology/social media.
As far as I’m concerned, it’s just as likely she was hacked.

Then they'll post pictures of high end stuff like cars, atvs, guitars, treadmills, electronics, etc. The only problem is they overdo it. You'll start thinking, "Huh, Bobby works on the line down at the Poptart factory. How does he own all this cool stuff?" Still, I can see how this would work on someone who is just acquaintances with the other person & doesn't realize they wouldn't own all that expensive equipment.

Understandably, I'm just another anonymous poster, but for what it's worth, I know Sheily Bell professionally. You don't teach kids of all sort for four decades, become known as the matriarch of Louisiana High School bands, send numerous kids to various college programs including LSU, and just wig out one day and post something like this on FB.
The posted comment is not Sheily. Anyone thinking to the contrary simply does not know her, her work, or how much she has given to the community. It would be an absolute tragedy if this ended her career, and for those who "don't care about the Dutchtown Band Director," I advise you to take a step back.
We live in a time where band in Louisiana is an afterthought at the high school and elementary levels. This is a person who has dedicated her life to teaching and to helping kids achieve things they dreamed.
Maybe put yourself in someone else's shoes for a second and imagine how messed up it would be if your account was hacked/cloned, and you were literally fighting for your livlihood and reputation.

Then why say any of this? It’s irrelevant. Sucking at social media doesn’t equate to posting racist crap. Typically, the old people that don’t give a shite are retired and have nothing to lose. But if I play along…
You know who else does dumb shite without thinking of consequences? People that go to extremes to trash someone’s reputation or to gain social media clout. The road almost always goes both ways.

I've known Sheily since we were 10 yr. old. I don't recall her using the n word even back then when black people still sat in the back of the bus. Black people worked for her dad and kept the ranch going.
She is smart and has been the band director of all kinds of skin colors. I refuse to believe this was her writing.

With just under 300 band members, it's probably the largest HS band in the state.
They're halftime performances are more complex and better than most colleges.
For comparison, LSU Tiger Marching Band has 325 band members.
This is the Dutchtown Sound playing at McNeese for the state chamionship.

If there’s a lengthy post history, its her real account. If there’s only 2 or 3 photos and all very recent upload dates, its probably a fake account created by someone else.
Also the possibility that a student either got ahold of her phone or that she logged into her FB account on a computer at school and a student got access to that device.
I don’t know anything about this woman, so I have no clue how likely that the hack story is legit or not.
