Yeah you can definitely negotiate that down. But call, don't use the chat feature online

Your problem is that you let them keep a credit card on file so you can’t call and reneg to $5 per month at each renewal.

I called them Monday because ny $5/month promo expired Tuesday. Without hesitation they gave me $5.99/month locked in for a tear. They insisted the $5 plan doesn't exist anymore. I've been on that for about 5 years now. It's so easy, I don't see how anyone pays full price.

I paid for the lifetime subscription back when they were on the ropes during the previous recession.
If things keep up at the current pace (Putin's inflation, so I'm told,) you might have the opportunity to do the same.

account number, and routing number
All you really need.
But paper checks are about the least secure thing you can have.
We had to change our checking account a few years back because someone tried to use an e-check to pay for something. We caught it almost immediately and the bank just backed out the payment. But since the account was compromised, we just closed it and had to redo all our things that autodraft.

Just got off the phone with them. They are refunding my money and I negotiated $7 a month

A friend paid $500 for lifetime in the very early years of it. Sounds great, but any time he got a new car, it was a nightmare getting it changed over, and they wanted to charge him big fees to do it.
It became such a clusterfrick that he eventually abandoned efforts to enforce it. It scared me away from ever going for a lifetime deal. I hope you have better luck.

Do not know why you are getting downvotes for this?
You have to be pretty dumb to let people auto-draft your checking accounts though. People are dumb and lazy though.
Let us know how you to do it.

Seems like I recall they also limited you to the channels you signed up for usually and often tied the lifetime feature to a specific radio. At some point it becomes cumbersome for most people from what I've seen.

I’m paying 12/month and have everything for both my truck and my wife’s suv. That includes traffic and weather, which are both very helpful.

I do.
For deposits.
If you want to put money in my account, I make it as easy as possible. Now, if you want to take money out of my account, that's a different story.

This is why I got tired of fricking with them. Having to call every 6 months and talk to Dinesh in New Delhi to get the price cheaper was a headache that I just didn't need anymore.

Bill comes in, I pay it

I do have auto-draft setup with insurance and bank checking, but both are USAA.
Any auto-drafting I do rolls through credit card, instead of checking account. CCs offer a buffer and dispute mechanism if needed. Plus points for paying bills.
If a company does not support auto-charges through CC, then we go the ole fashion route. Even then payment is done electronically from USAA website, no need to write a check and mail in a bill. USAA is integrated with most companies and e-bill pops up with how much to pay and you click a button to pay.
It is seriously not that hard you lazy fricks.
Edit - If he was using a CC, almost there. If it is something you have no plans of keeping or involve negotiating, then temp CC numbers or temp CCs.

You are still giving access to your account by paying bills with a check.
Think about it….someone looks at that check. And it has your name, address, account number, and routing number. Anyone can order checks online with that information and starting writing checks on your account.
It is like the 1960s all over again with some of you

I only do it for auto insurance because it lowers my rate. Our insurance here in Louisiana is more than a fricking car note.

I need to do this as well. Is that $7 a fixed rate or will you be dealing with the same thing in six months?

I've been paying $5/mth ever since 2004.
