Referencing her having a child at a young age with an abusive partner is 100% topical to the thread.
While it highlights the double standards that apply to men and women when they engage in risky sexual activity at a young age, that double standard exists for good reason. The consequences of the risky behavior are not the same. Women bare far more serious consequences than do men, which is why they’re judged to a higher standard.
Paige, it sucks that you, in your youth, were fooled by a man that wasn’t right for you. We’ve all rushed into relationships at one time or another with someone wrong for us, ignoring red flags along the way that we didn’t want to see. The difference is that women have less margin for error, and that’s a fact of life.
His mistake left him with a bad reputation and probably a bad financial situation for a while. Your mistake left you with a living, breathing human child needing your attention and affection to survive. That’s why women have to be more judgmental about who they date than men do.
At the same time, women have to realize what a kid does to them in the dating market. It’s an anchor. Guys naturally are against raising the offspring of another man. They also are selfish and want your undivided attention and to be your #1. A woman with a child will always put their child first. Men know that, and so do women. Stop pretending the perfect guy wants an overweight single mom when there are women in decent shape without kids put there.

You're just being overly sensitive about one of your gmt circle jerk buddies.
It's ok, I forgive your blindspots.

Ok psycho
