Hard to have outdoor dining with snow on the ground.
The state has basically outlawed her business, like many others.

Michigan's health department has been fining a mother of six $1,000 per day for keeping her cafe open in violation of stay-at-home orders issued Nov. 15, documents obtained by FOX Business show.
Amy Heikken, the owner of Café Rosetta in Calumet, is refusing to pay multiple $1,000 fines for keeping her cafe open for indoor dining against state orders, and now she is facing legal challenges.
Erik Kiilunen, a Michigan small business owner who founded the "All Business is Essential" campaign to keep Michigan businesses open and afloat during the pandemic, spoke on behalf of Heikken.
"Amy's just got this sweet disposition. She doesn't want to fight anybody," Kiilunen told FOX Business of Heikken's legal battle with the state. "She doesn't want any of this."

Café Rosetta employs 30 people, and with snow on the ground in Michigan, Heikken can't afford to close indoor dining, Kiilunen said. He added that she can't wear a mask in line with her doctor's orders due to a thyroid condition.
"So she stayed open and defied the mandate," Kiilunen said. "Now, she's getting harassed on a daily basis by our local health department led by Tanya Rule and being fined $1,000 a day for supporting a family of six and 30 employees."
Neither Rule, the environmental health director for the Western Upper Peninsula Health Department, nor Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer's office immediately responded to inquiries from FOX Business.
The state has basically outlawed her business, like many others.

Just rip up the fines like that dude in Staten island did
It will help us identify the fascists among the police departments if they come to enforce this absurdity

Throw that dangerous criminal in jail and put her kids in foster care.

Our forefathers would have hung or shot any tyrannical politician who tried to keep people from earning an honest living for their families.

If I were her I wouldn't pay a cent, continue to work, and sue the frick out of those people. fricking disgusting lives are ruined over a "virus" that has a 99.9% of surviving if you get it.

Tanya Rule is such a POS for trying to ruin this single mothers livelihood. What an evil person.

Yet, if this lady busted into a business to loot/steal food, basic needs for her kids, because she's forced by the government to close, she will be thrown directly into jail. Meanwhile, doing the same thing because a criminal died is perfectly fine.
I think if governments are forcing a business to close their doors, then the government should be paying that business what they normally bring in. Isn't that fair?

Hope she uses the fines like toilet paper, Stallone in Demolition Man style

bullshite. It's 2020 - the Democratic party's switch from being liberal to being hardcore authoritarians is only applicable to law abiding citizens. Looting is okay now.
Operating a legal and reputable business.....totally different story.

How the frick are these people supposed to not end up homeless and living on the streets? It's been almost a year and they still aren't allowed to open

What’s sad is that there’s oathbreaking police that will enforce this fricking bullshite, and fricking rat citizens turning in their own.

The cops have been harder on business owners than on business looters.
Remember that the next time you universally “back the blue”.
All these “mandates” are nothing more than letters to Santa without the blue’s enforcement.

All over the country, police officers have arrested business owners over staying open. It happened in Texas earlier this year.
Those fines are nothing more than toilet paper without the blue’s backing. For this particular case, we will see what side the blue is on soon.

This looks like a good GoFundMe cause.
Somewhere else of course.

Why aren't her male relatives sitting outside and beating the piss out of any Health Dept workers they see?

I wonder if the Cafe owner voted for Gretchen Whitmer. I bet she did.
