I use to hardly ever see surf fishermen, but the last couple of times I’ve been to the beach I see one about every 1000 feet.. still doesn’t bother me though. It’s cool to see what y’all bring in.

There are many, many piers, jetties, and open beaches that have all the room you need. DON'T BE A DICK!

Yeah you are the POS in this situation. Its one thing if it was right out front of your beach house but if you are at a place where others are also renting condos and chairs then you need to go where its less crowded cuz you are being a hazard to the swimmers.

There are things that are illegal/banned, then there are things that are common sense being a nuisance.

This is the latter.

If you were just wade fishing with one pole that's one thing, but setting up multiple pole's in a rented chair area?

I bet you blast your boombox at the public playground too?

Depends on the area you are in. If you own the beach house and others have to go out of their way to get to the beach area in front of it, you are in the right. If it’s a rental in an area densely packed with other rentals, such as a high rise condo or a group of closely spaced beach houses where everyone uses the same stretch of beach, you are a dick. Not only can other renters not swim, but with 4 lines, they can’t fish either.

You have at least one invisible line blocking the walking path.

You have at least one sharp hook out in the water for someone to swim into or step on.

You are attracting bait fish for sharks near the shore.

How can you possibly think you are not the a-hole?

If you want to fish get a boat.

I love when people come on here thinking everyone will be on their side just to find out that they are an a-hole.
