Why would you make a thread about nostalgia bait and then modernize the building into the thing you are implicitly rejecting?

Here when there were incidents that made people buy up all the water, the real ones knew Kmart always would have water, b/c everyone forgot about it I guess.

Loved going to Kmart as a kid. Got many of my model kits from there.

In the late 1970s, the toy section at K-Mart was pure Nirvana. They even had a well stocked model isle. We didn’t know how good we had it.

Seems that malls may be making a comeback, at least in some areas.

Hell just give me back foil wrapped ding dongs. The modern ones suck compared to these.

I like how in the two pictures they showed of people returning to malls, there is a notable absence of the reason why many people don't currently go to malls now.

This drunken statement costs Fuzzy 100's of Millions

Kmart severed its lucrative sponsorship with golfer Fuzzy Zoeller in April 1997 after he made racially insensitive jokes about Tiger Woods. During a televised interview following Woods’ historic Masters victory, Zoeller suggested the young champion not serve "fried chicken" or "collard greens" at the traditional Champions Dinner.

Back in the early 80s the Kmart in my hometown had a pretty impressive fishing gear department including salt water gear even though we're a bit over 2 hours from the ocean
