And you'd be spilling over on these narrow economy seats. I fly a lot and there's just no way for a person even slightly heavier than normal or taller than 5'10" tall can get comfortable in economy. Oh, and at 6', you are basically putting your knees in the seat in front of you.
Heaven forbid you are next to someone with big shoulders.
Seriously.....airlines need to bring the wider seats back.

SS gets it.
But keep in mind that 90% of OTers are world class athletes with 5% body fat

Airlines have wider seats. Its called first class.

If they wouldn't have spent all that money stuffing their face and creating that huge arse they carry, then maybe they could afford first class.... Ammirifht?

196 and 166 are grotesque. It's ashame how fat society has become. Put down the fricking McDonald's and go for a walk. It's unbelievable how being fit is in the minority.

Have you flown on any of the Airbus configurations for united or american recently? I'm 6'2 and those flights were miserable (besides the exit row), I avoid booking the A319 or A320 on united like the plague.
i can't speak for american, but that is united not airbus. Have you ridden in the 787? Its configuration fricking blows. A 2-4-2 configuration would be far superior, but they went 3-3-3. I flew on an ANA flight right after a united flight and had those respective configurations, ANA was much more pleasant despite no economy plus.

At 5'11 you are considered overweight if you weight 179 or more

If they're going to turn three seats into two, will they charge 50% more for these specialty seats, or will they raise the price for all of the seats to cover the difference?

Not all flights offer it. People who fly more than once a year to see Aunt Gert in Boise know this.
A lot of airlines have switched to RJ's and their first class sucks.
Flying sucks anyway. First class makes it tolerable, barely.

Depends if you're muscular or not.
Yep. I'm 5'10, and when I got to 175, I had had a six pack, yet was considered obese according to the bmi scale.

In HS, I was 6-'3 x 190 and considered overweight according to the scale. Had a 31" waist and looked like a beanpole.

Because you probably were fat as shite?
I look around at coworkers who I outweigh by 15 pounds but they look like pear-shaped slobs vs my physique.

When I fly with my wife I upgrade her to first class while I ride in coach. She gets motion sickness very easy and she needs extra attention that she will not get in coach. I smile as I walk by these smug OTers knowing they will be in hell for the duration of the flight.

Why not just let people pay per inches of seat they are occupying?

It's Airbus. It's just gonna crash anyway

You're fat, you're just not messily obese. Nothing wrong having a bit of a gut unless you don't want to have a higher propensity for heart disease and high blood pressure. Then there's something wrong.

Every time I fly on an Embrair I fricking curse someone out. That plane was made for clowns, not normal people. Even in the single seat or the aisle seat, you are basically fricked. And I'm 6'2", 185. Not fat. GFY Embrair. Or GFY United for not making the plane a 1 and 1 rather than a 2 and1. fricking garbage. Just thinking about it makes me want to count punt a flight attendant.
ETA: why the shite does "c unt" show up as "count"? Come on, Chicken, you're better than this.
