I don’t know. I’ve been going there for 20 years.

I never understood how they made it with so few seats.

My father used to go to the Cub on Saturdays when I was a kid. I'm now 64-years-old.

Headline states closing after 30 years. It’s been open helluva lot longer than that.

So only the restaurant part closed?

I wouldn't think the bar would close.

The Cub is the oldest bar in Shreveport, before the current restaurant opened inside The Cub they used to serve Mexican food, or at least big arse burritos. I used to go there at 15 years old and hang out and play pool, because technically we weren’t in the bar.

Yes, long before they closed that little room and started selling steaks, they had a very good burrito.

Place really kinda started going downhill last three or four years.

Think the only bar still open in that little strip there is Round Bar.

No one read the article which shows they will only be closed 1 week for improvements.

Without a doubt, one of the best steaks in this country.

Is that the place that smells like the inside of a pack of cigs?

Wow. I've lived in Bossier my whole life and I think i've been there two times. Never blew me away and never heard many people talk about how good their food is. Hate that I never tried their steak now.

Trying to clear up a muddy story...

The Cub restaurant room that served steak and au gratin potatoes is closing. Roger is out.

The Lounge is still open. The owners of the lounge say they will make improvements and reopen the restaurant in a week.

That update wasn't in the article. There is something going on. Maybe a money man stepped up for a piece of the action.

The quote in the OP sounded like it was closing for good. Who thanks customers for 30 years of business if you only close down a week for improvements.
