Back in 1979 when I was at LSU I was dating a girl whose father was a Lt. Col. at Barksdale. I drove up there one weekend to visit her and was stopped at the gate until they could vet me.
The gate guards were armed with .45's and M-16's.
I can just imagine what they have now.
