Shredding tires to protect property.... it's on!!

We are in neighborhood with 2-3 acre homesites. Neighborhood has grass ditches for drainage. Lot across the street from me is vacant but the guy has a crew over there twice a month to cut and weedeat around trees he planted 3 or 4 years ago. Someone has been dropping into the ditch and giving it hell after it rains. Has some pretty good ruts in the ditch now so it doesn't look too good. We have heard the truck that is going into it a couple of times around midnight. Loud diesel.
Saw the property owner today and he was messing around in the ditch. Went over after he left and he has a 4" x 16" or so piece of heavy C channel with about a 2 1/2" piece of flat bar sticking up that has been ground to a pretty good edge.
Going to be interesting the next time that truck drops into that ditch and goes through the same rut. I am predicting 2 badly stredded tires and someone is going to be stuck in their own mudhole with no way to get out and damn sure not enough spares. Mudding is about to get expensive.

I am told that a 2x8 with vertical spikes every four inches and buried with the spike tips an inch below soil level. Then spread hay over the surface as if it's newly planted.
Sort of a version of corn to attract deer, which isn't legal unless you just happen to leave some corn unharvested.

A couple of strings of caltrops. Cheap,effective and the truck isn’t going far.

An old school garden rake, the type with the short metal tines at 90° from the handle, will do wonders to a vehicle that runs it over. Place the handle in the direction that traffic will be coming from so the last thing that gets run over is the metal spike head. The tines will puncture the tire and the handle will be driven into the vehicle’s undercarriage. Or so I’ve heard.

I made something similar when I lived in BR. Lived on a corner and someone kept cutting between the stop sign and my house. A 2x4 with nails and two anchor rods on each end fixed that. Woke up to a 20 year old punk with 2 flats crying. His dad came by the next day saying he was gonna call the cops. I picked up a wrench near by and yelled at him. Never heard from them again
