Sure, all we need is 1,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollars.

I mean, I guess

If you totally block out the sun, getting energy back home will be the least of your problems.

What if I told you there was a giant hydrogen-based nuclear fusion reactor in the center of our solar system?

Where we getting all the metal?

Haven't we found "evidence" of a Dyson sphere around another star? I seem to remember reading that.

Asteroid belt.

Screw that - we need all the metal for this…

Yeah, they were unsure, but there was energy being blocked from getting out...that was their assumption

Print one then, and get it done

Would it not require more energy and resources to build than could be harvested?

Let’s start with something simple. How about a gravity drive that creates an artificial black hole to open a portal from one part of the universe to another

Yes good thinking baw

I get where you are going but really being able to harness nuclear fusion would provide the catalyst for technological innovations since we would have a nearly limitless energy source.

Sure - it should only cost 10000 trillion dollars and be nearly impossible for at least the next 1000 years. Sounds like a great topic of discussion.

If what you're doing requires all of a star's power to fuel it, you have a spending problem...

Meh, a government project of this magnitude would come in way over budget.
