It is already expensive as hell to adopt...which turns away many couples from considering the option. There are some couples that can't have children that would be amazing parents and would love to adopt...but simply cannot afford it.
So you want to make it even more expensive for the couple? How will that make things better?

There are too many babies that are born and not wanted now. Until every baby has a loving home, we should not show preference.
The world would be better if we controlled the flow of fertility, but that would be a different discussion. The right to reproduction is bad thing for the world.

Might seem like a good idea to offer financial incentive to birthing mother as it could persuade them to giving an unwanted child up for adoption as opposed to having an abortion.
But would it also possibly lead to increased birth rate among low income women who get pregnant on purpose to take advantage of that financial incentive?

Then don't adopt a white newborn baby...
I've put thought into adoption, and if I did, it would certainly be to take a child that wouldn't be at the top of the adoption lists.
I view adoption as a way to make a big impact on a child's life, not just what I want.

Why don't people just go for a slightly older kid for adoption? Does it have to be a baby?

I know I don't have 25-50k just sitting in a bank to use for adoption costs. Costs that are NOT refundable if the birth parents change their mind.

Why does baby have to be white? I have multiple friends with adopted kids of a different race (not white). They love those babies as much as I love my own biological kids.

Were you ever successful? We used an open door adoption agency in GA. The only money you have at risk is a deposit. Maybe $2K.
