FT LEE
FT POLK
FT HOOD
FT BRAGG
FT RUCKER
FT BENNING
FT GORDON

Among others, several Army posts are named after former confederate generals and slave owners.

The Army is composed of approximately 20% enlisted African Americans, and 12% of the officer corps are black.

Akin to the enlightened push to remove the confederate flag, should they rename the posts?

I think every President before Eisenhower was obviously racist since they denied basic rights for blacks. Every President before Obama (in his second term) should be barred from the history books since they were homophobic.

Yes. It actually should. The losers don't get to keep stuff named after them.

Why does he need to do that? He's staying in Washington for a reason and it's damn sure not because of his kids

If the Confederates States of America had won the war, would they would name forts and ships and such after Union Army generals and heroes?

I'm betting there would not be a Fort Sherman or Camp Grant in the CSA.

I don't care about his issue at all. I don't care whether you call it Fort Polk, Fort Grant, Fort Harriet Tubman or Fort Obama.

I don't care what they name high schools either.

No, no it's not.

It's up to those that serve. The ones who wear a uniform should decide. Politicians and voters who haven't served or are not serving should not have a say.
