Nope, then you get waitresses talking to posters here on the board, talking about how she, her husband, and three kids are stuck in a motel while she works 3 jobs. Then its all about privilege.

No, absolutely not.

Futhermore, parents who can't afford to feed their children should have their children removed from their care. The kids deserve an environment above that level of poverty.

If more people would choose to adopt, and vote for candidates who actually care about society instead of their political corrupt interest we could fix the issue. Education and mental health care will fix 90% of the world's problems. Educate people on their choices, and guide them to better decisions.

Yep. I don't think we should be a welfare state.

I think if we're going to be a welfare state, then the only way it will work is if there are strict rules as to how the gibs are doled out.

Wanting the government to be even more involved in the lives of its citizens is not the mark of a small government conservative. Period. A small government conservative wants less government, not more.

I don't agree with welfare in most cases but letting the government become even more involved in the personal lives and bodies of its citizens isn't the answer and your ideas in this thread are slippery fricking slope and a violation of the Constitutional rights of American citizens.

We have pumped a ton of money into education (of all kinds) and it appears to not be working.

The only way to fix this is make people responsible for their choices. Bring back Natural Selection.

It's a Pandora's box that I don't think we should open.

UBI would be inflationary as well if it were given to all citizens. If it were given to only people making under say 35k it would harm the economy. If you were a general laborer making 38k but could quit and do nothing instead for 35k how many do you think would take that option?

All jobs would have to raise salaries well above the UBI to incentivize people to work rather than take the UBI. This would also cause inflation as salaries would be constantly raised and the UBI would have to be raised in tandem. It would be a total mess.

I don't think you understand how this works. When you receive other people's tax dollars, you are now beholden to the government (the people). It's not their money. I want the government out of welfare. They are not out of welfare.

I would like a say in how my money is used.

I do understand how it works. I'm not saying that people should get handouts for having children. Welfare needs massive reform and people shouldn't be paid to have kids. You can't force people to not have them though. You can't force sterilization or medication on those who don't want it. Period.

I truly believe in a government run boarding school....And I hate government.

But I sure as shite trust the government over people on welfare.

People on welfare use their children as monthly ATMs. When you get over 4 kids.... they become worthless to welfare parents..... they begin selling their SSN etc etc.

frick THIS shite. I feel for children, they are INNOCENT. frick WELFARE PARENTS.... they are not innocent. I pay over $100k in taxes annually (no fricks if you believe me, so save those responses) -- and where does a ton of that money go??? Straight on to EBT cards ---- so that lazy people don't have to work. Once again -- frick THAT.

What's worse, MANY MANY MANY of these EBT cards are traded for cash.... at half value. Why cash??? So you can buy cigs and beer of course.

My proposal -- welfare for 12 months --- if you are unable to support you kids after this time -- take the kids. Put the kids in a FAR BETTER CHANCE FOR LIFETIME SUCCESS. A government run boarding school --- providing room and board, education, and character building --- THIS IS HOW YOU BREAK THE CYCLE ___ REMOVE THE KIDS FROM IT...

Who pays for this????? WELFARE reform..... How many billions upon billions are wasted MONTHLY --- simply giving people fish after fish after fish.... never once making them go fishing...... frick -- they don't even have to clean or cook the fish -- just fricking eat the handouts.....

Take the welfare money from adults who will not( OR CANNOT) properly take care of their children. ALLOW donations to be charitable tax breaks. I give approximately $10k - $15k per year in various donations.... red cross, st. jude. goodwill, ACA, action against hunger, and my wife donates to some LA coastal stuff....etc. etc. You give me an unlimited tax break on this orphanage, and I promise Ill donate to it. It stop donating to everything but this orphanage and St. Jude.

I am one mean and cruel piece of work, but I have a real soft spot for children. All children.

frick YOU TERRIBLE PARENTS!

You aren't forcing it on people who don't want it. You're giving it to people who will want it if they also want government money.

Government money already comes with stipulations. It's a mutually agreed upon transaction between the government and those who wish to receive the money. There is no force.

They have basically decided to break the social contract by having children they can not support . They have shifted the onus onto strangers and they are giving us back children with social pathologies who then repeat the cycle ad infinitum. So yes, I think they should face some kind of loss of benefits, parental rights, voluntary sterilization etc .

you just simply cannot dictate by rule or law what a person does like that

that said, lets look at the "general" idea behind your comment that they shouldn't become baby factories just to get a bigger check from government.

i think the very simple solution is to have a hard fixed cap on any welfare benefits. it would work like this, you are allowed to receive benefits for up to 4 kids and that is it. go and have 12 kids if you want to, but you will not get one extra penny from any government program including snap for any of those kids except the first 4 kids. i think capping it at 4 is the lowest number you can capo it at to prevent baby makers just doing it for getting more money but still be fair to help the poor who arent trying to "game" the system and really do need help.

this takes away the very real fact that young inner city black women have babies just to get a free check and never have to work. often doing it as prostitutes as well to make money that way too.

they have 7-8 kids and collect around $1000 a month per kid for having those kids. then they collect unemployment (because they cant work) because they have to stay hoime to care for all those kids.

then on top of that they collect another $800 a month in EBT snap benefits (food stamps) per child plus themselves. at the end of the day, if you total everything up, they make more then the average person does in a middle income job.

But you can de-incentivize it, while at the same time pay them heavy rewards to get vasectomies.

Yup. It would be unconstitutional to forbid welfare recipients from having children... I'd be all for getting rid of welfare entirely and seeing how people do in a sink or swim scenario, but that's not the question at hand.

You have to take away the rewards for having children on welfare at the very least.

Nope. And we should sterilize those who have been on it longer than a year or so.

Also offer an up front cash payment to anyone wishing To be sterilized.
