I honestly think this would work. I saw a report on Vice of a woman who was driving around the country giving crackheads like $300 if they would agree to be sterilized. This is a woman who had adopted children from crackheads and was tired of seeing children abandoned on the streets so that women could get welfare to buy drugs.
She's a hero.

We should stop rewarding welfare recipients who have more children.
If you're already receiving government assistance, we should offer free birth control. But if you have another child while already receiving government assistance, then they don't get any additional assistance above what they were already receiving (other than Medicaid for the child and WIC vouchers for baby food/formula).
Also, welfare recipients should be required to show proof that they're working full time (40 hours a week). If they're not employed for 40 hours a week, they do community service that adds up to 40 hours combined between their jobs and service hours.
Stop providing an incentive for people to spend their whole lives on welfare and make it what it was designed to be....temporary assistance to get back on one's feet.

Very different times. My grandparents had 6 kids and a farm. They were poor and couldn't pay hospital bills when the kids were born. To pay off their hospital bills, they furnished the hospital with eggs and chicken for the cafeteria.
They also lived within their means. Hand-me-down clothes for the kids, patched up clothes when needed. No big vacations, just a trip to Biloxi every couple of years. My grandma learned to give the kids haircuts to save money.
Today's "welfare" people have smart phones, the latest name brand shoes, extravagant birthday parties for all their kids, hair and nails done, etc.
It's completely different from the way things used to be.

The birth control should be mixed in with the needy cheese and cans of peanut butter, that you can only pick up on the weekend with your large yellow coupon, in the single welfare checkout line.

I don't think its in anyone's best interest for people living in poverty to put further strain on the systems. However, the environment promotes it. Its only going to get worse as low skill level jobs start getting cut due to automation from tech. advancements. A young woman/man/couple with a couple kids no college degree is battling uphill and that's with welfare to help make ends meet.

Nope, people who are on welfare and choose to have a child anyway should be sterilized , or euthanized. I don't care which.

I also really doubt the extent of people calculating to have kids to get more welfare money. By and large I think these people have less than stellar decision making skills (generalization and there are plenty of exceptions) and I think they just frick and get pregnant and there's another one, I don't think they go run scenario's by TurboTax or log or get a pen and paper and think out the numbers then say aha and go frick and have a baby. Some may who knows, but I doubt it's prevelant.

At the least put a maximum number of kids the government will pay for. It shouldn't e profitable to make babies that you can't afford.
