Yes UNLESS crime is related to right.

Money laundering - trading license
Voter fraud- Voting
Most things - Law license

If they are required to pay federal/state taxes abs served legal sentence then rights back.

*After probation is finished not just jail time.

Should habitual offenders who committed a violent crime, (i.e. armed robbery, aggravated assault, rape, and murder) with a firearm enhancement be allowed to regain their 2A rights back after completing their sentence?

It's kind of fricked to have a guy serve his sentence, call him rehabilitated and release him back into society but then tell him he doesn't get to vote or do certain things everyone else can do.

I think this makes a false assumption that prison=rehabilitated. Just because one does physical time does not equal paying one's debt to society. You have all kinds of punishment and combinations thereof. Fines, prison, warning, community service, restitution, parole, probation...

I have a real problem with a murderer or carjacker being considered "rehabilitated" or paid their debt because they walk out of prison. Right now in New Orleans you can carjack a guy and walk in 90 days or less. F*** that. Folks need to realize that violence has long lasting consequences.

Unless they're repeat offenders they should. Their record should also be cleared after paying their debt. Exceptions should probably be made for sex crimes or violent crimes

Each passing day, I see more and more threads advocating for the removal of freedoms. These same people doing the advocating are also lamenting the lost of muh freedoms.

If out on parole, no.

If out early for "good behavior", no, until your original sentence times out.

If you were sentenced to 10 years and served 10 years, yes.

If you were sentenced to 10 years and served 6, then no, until ten years has passed (assuming you've kept your nose clean).

Please be specific on what felonious offenses? Many posters are college educated here, served in the military, know right from wrong and have never committed a felony whatsoever. Hell, even DWI was considered to be an egregious offense while serving on active duty and would lead to dire consequences, at least when I was in.

Yep. I played with the UCMJ for 11 yrs. I really don’t feel bad for those who break the law and have no idea what an actual punishment is.

If I had a drink I’d never drive because I feared a DUI.

Ya this is funny because the reason I started this is because I saw a comment that felons are the most discriminated against. Lol don’t break the law, especially felonies.

Of course… the real problem is the state letting the wrong felons out of prison…

When you say rights … what right are you referring to exactly???

Only felons? Imagine losing it for a misdemeanor. A misdemeanor conviction of domestic violence will lose your gun rights. There are men and women that cannot legally carry in this country because of an argument. Pretty sure police arrest and figure it out later when called.

So you are ok with citizens losing their 2nd Amendment rights forever if they were convicted of a crime that a judge COULD have sentenced them for more than one year?

Felons know full well the ramifications of their actions - which includes forfeiting certain rights - and still commit the crimes. If they are so cavalier about their own rights, why are some bleeding hearts so intent on restoring them?*

Heck, if dead people can vote, why not criminals who have paid their debt?

Depends in the right.

The right to carry firearms, no.

Other rights, yes.

Shall not be infringed to me is absolute. Self-defense is a natural right.
