I’m probably in the minority but I think they should. If they served their time and will be paying taxes, they should get the same rights as any other taxpayer.

Part of me says that for certain crimes or with some type of review that we should give them a path to it, but I don’t think that could be accurately enforced and not fricked up like everything else so screw it and let’s just leave it a hard and fast rule.

Unless...the felony they committed was directly related voter fraud.

If it’s a real crime like selling crack no but if it’s a fake crime like selling cocaine yes

They already do. When you get off probation or parole you get voting rights back and if it’s non violent state offense you can get your gun rights back after something like 7 years. Don’t think tat applies to federal offenses though

I think that’s pretty fair, federal offenses should prolly mirror state though. Someone convicted of money laundering or tax evasion shouldn’t lose guns rights forever imo

That depends. Do you believe in rehabilitation? Because that is what our system is based on.

It's kind of fricked to have a guy serve his sentence, call him rehabilitated and release him back into society but then tell him he doesn't get to vote or do certain things everyone else can do.

If you don't believe in rehabilitation, then you should advocate for auto death sentences or lock them up and throw away the key for life every time.

I am on the fence really.

So since illegals buy something at the store they should have rights, since they paid their tax?

Instead of using prison as a punishment alone, we should be trying to educate them and prevent them from committing future crimes.

Instead we lock them in a cell and think "yeah that will solve it" while private companies are making money on it.

Is illegal immigration a felony? I genuinely don't know.

Slight tweak I'd offer:
Misdemeanor - yes
Felony - no

Yes, eventually most felons will be released from prison and will have "done their time"- but their time in prison is not the entire penalty.

What?

So Americans are no longer Americans if they have a felony?

All free men have the right to protect themselves and provide for themselves and their family. You need your rights to do that.

Half the laws on the books are bullshite anyway, lots of ex felons didn't do anything morally wrong, just something that was against the governments rules.

Depends on the crime.

I worked with three guys who were busted for dealing and making meth in their early life and spent time in prison. All three are hard workers and have advanced in the company, have kids, own homes, and are living like the rest of us are. I wrote a letter for one of them to get his voting rights back. He got them restored a few years ago. All three hate Democrats.

You said if they pay taxes. Technically illegals pay taxes, therefore they should have rights. Your words Tyga
