i bet if pot was legal youd have less people hooked on pail pills

Someone very close to me went through an opioid/pain pill and alcohol addiction. It was pretty damn awful.

I've taken them before and I'm not sure pot would be a substitute for that feeling for a lot of people. Still should be legalized everywhere though.

Or benzodiazepines, I was taking an ungodly amount of those daily because I just wanted to sleep and relax.

Led to some of my best OT work, but still.

This is true, you’d also have a lot less alcoholics.

I’m all for legalizing pot, but not cocaine, meth or heroin

You can't un-invent them. They exist, legal or not. All prohibition does is make things worse.

How bad were your withdrawals?

I heard benzos and alcohol have some of the most life threatening withdrawal symptoms if you are addicted to both of them.

Should we also allow people to make pipe bombs or pressure cooker bombs since all those materials exist?

There is a reason they call getting high on opiates ‘chasing the dragon’.

Pot can’t get you there. But it is still a great drug.

I’ll be 7 years sober next month. I’ve been addicted to both at different times in my life.

I say legalize drugs and end the DEA and the Cartels and the CIA and the Taliban.

All drugs should be decriminalized. Drug users shouldn't be sent to prison for their addictions. It exasperates the problem and creates more societal harm. On the other hand there should be consumer protection and corporations shouldn't be given free rein to mislead the public and sell them harmful substances.

Only if you remove the safety nets.

You want to frick up your life....go for it...but dont expect everyone else to pay for you to get it back on track.

After you are addicted you or charity should be responsible for that bill....not tax players that made better choices.

You want the right to use drugs....accept the consequences.

Except that safety nets benefit you as much as they benefit the people who use them. It's like building infrastructure. It creates a society that benefits you every day.

Conservatives: "God damn homeless people. They're making our cities unsafe, and they nag me with their begging."

Also conservatives: "You want to use my taxes to help give those homeless people a place to go to rehabilitate them and keep them off the street? frick them. Leave them on the street to rot."

And no. Charities are not enough on their own to fix all social issues, and many would not survive without public funds.

Seems like they effect everyone differently. I never liked the way they made me feel and never used them much.

It was a living nightmare. It was basically cold Turkey after 2 years of heavy usage. Your body feels worse than a flu, the way your brain makes you feel..you dont want to open your eyes. Emotionally unbalanced, very depressed. You shake at times from the pain your brain is causing, you're helpless, sweating, tossing and turning in bed. You dont sleep. And that lasted to me for almost 6 days.

When you are finally able to get deep sleep, and somewhat recover..and that feeling is gone, it's almost like being born again or something. I felt residual effects for months afterwards though.

And even now, everytime I drink classic coca cola I get a strange sorta feeling because when I was on those, I drank coke a lot. Like 2 sips and the can is gone, trashy i know but nonetheless it's strange how things like that can work with association.

If it was legal why would he have to make his own?

According to publications, the drug addiction rate in 1900 without prohibitions was 3%. The drug addiction rate in 2000 was 3%. Give ya 3 guesses what the drug addiction rate today is.

I have no problem with safety nets when people need help because they are in bad situations that they couldn't control.

But if you want to legalize drugs and use drugs....you made that choice. That was completely in your control...and it should be your responsibility correct that bad decision in life

You want that freedom...accept the responsibility and be accountable for it.

It is BS to claim you have the right to screw up your life and the entitlement to have other pay for it.
