Thanks for trying but I'm kind of old school. I still use a desktop and I don't own a tablet or laptop. All my communication is through my ISP email address. I don't use text notifications or web email or any other kind of communications through my cell phone other than voice and texting with friends and family.
Using the internet and word processing on a desktop is so much easier that I don't even bother with mobile sites or any of the other common uses of cell phones these days. Since we're talking about eBay, their mobile site, like any other mobile sites, doesn't offer half of the options that it does on the full site that I can access from my desktop or from any laptop.
All my electronic use is complicated, organized, multi-layered and highly integrated. My desktop is my home base for all my electronics use. Many people these days use their cell phone as their home base which is unfathomable. Cell phones are such horrible platforms for that

Do your product research off of amazon, find out what you want, then go to amazon to order it

I usually only look at reviews from verified purchasers which it will say next to their name.
The best thing about Amazon that many don't know about is you can find refurb/used items or that same item from a different company that still qualifies for prime and you don't have to pay tax.
I usually just use Amazon for reviews and check to see if I can find it at a better price - but its hard to beat Amazon's selection on just about every item.

It is getting harder to find things in Amazon too. I can search for an item using their search and not find it (but see alot if sponsored stuff); turn around and search in Google and find it on Amazon.

They get around this by giving people on sites like influencer.com free or greatly reduced products in exchange for reviews. People order the item through amazon with a discount code that gives it to them for free, and then they’re still labeled as a verified purchase.

My recent problem is with reviews from multiple products in the same review list. Something fishy is going on with the reviews. I see them all the time for products that are not the one I am looking at. They seem to group all of the reviews for products with several models.

Two years ago I ordered wireless headphones for tv. When they arrived I set up with my tv. Right side was buzzing and would play and then stop. Tried several adjustmemts and called amazon and was immediately sent new headphones which worked.
Three months ago I order two firestick/voice remote and one of the remotes would not pair. I used the second remote with did pair and called amazon. I saw the attitude change with the heavy accented customer service rep. He had me try this, and that and repeat. I told him I had done all of those things before I called and he said for me to try again. I tried again and then he became adversarial. I said forget it and paired my old fire stick remote.
I called a week later and got anothwe helper who listened as I explained every step I had taken before calling. He said lets try to start over. I said sure and hung up. I have ordered lately from Target and Sams plus online program.

they dont even have to do that. amazon has its own 'vine' program where their loyal army of trolls gets free shite in the mail & plugs it with 5 star reviews.

i know i give amazon alot of grief but no one on here can deny
a. prices have gradually crept up until they are at least as much as you'd pay locally and sometimes even more
b. prime membership cost keeps going up up up
c. sales tax laws have killed virtually every amazon advantage except convenience and amazon is having to throw some music & video services to add value/keep their product competitive
d. review quality has degraded to the point they're almost useless

I do shop locally when it's cheaper. More often than not, it isn't though. Subscribe and save for heavily used items is cheaper than anywhere else.

Amazon has done a great job of diversifying itself from the original online marketplace concept. It's like they realized that by changing the online marketplace others would catch up and basically be able to match if not beat their pricing. Thus you have to add value by creating the prime membership, the Amazon CC, Amazon Tv, Whole Foods, Amazon Web Services, the list just goes on and on... even if the consumer is buying less goods from you they are still significantly invested in your brand. They have really created a lifestyle completely centered around their existence.

eBay is great. I've been on it since it was auctionweb. Used to buy baseball cards there as a kid.
Buy it now feature was a godsend when they brought it. Still cheaper than local places, but you didn't have to outbid for days.
It's definitely evolved over the years and I hope it becomes a bigger competitor to Amazon and now Walmart's online presence.
