Not sure about gunfight at highland and Jefferson, but
Shooting started a little ways down hop shoo too
An attempted stop may have gone awry there
Ems staging in several locations

An East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff's deputy was shot by a man on Sunday morning after trying to make a traffic stop near Airline Highway and Pecue Lane, according to spokesperson Casey Rayborn Hicks.
The officer's injury doesn't appear to be life-threatening, Hicks said.
When the deputy tried to make the traffic stop, the gunman fired, fled in his vehicle and crashed on Kendalwood Road, Hicks said.
The gunman then fired another round, Hicks said, and fled into the woods nearby.
A perimeter is set up in the woods on Kendalwood Road near the Amite River (off Hoo Shoo Too Road) as law enforcement search for the gunman.

2 way radio communication takes a practiced ear to understand. Also, because of the lingo used, it can be profession specific. This makes it even harder.

Well that’s a terrible way to start a Sunday. You gotta do something really stupid to get pulled over on a Sunday morning.

Old neighbors in The Landing (past Mallard lakes on right) are telling me it’s going down right now in the woods behind subdivision, which backs up to bayou manchac before hitting the amite.
The area at the end of HST, kendalwood and the like, was always super sketchy.

Does anyone know what the frequency is for EBRPSO?

I used to be dispatcher on this channel. South dispatch. It’s called a radio ear. It takes time. And you learn your people over time and what they say.
