A young woman was killed Wednesday night in a shooting on College Drive, officials said. Dedawn Bush, 20, of 3033 Quebec Drive, was fatally shot near the intersection of College Drive and Bardwell Drive outside the Bienville Tower Apartments, according to Baton Rouge Police. Police spokesman Sgt. L'Jean McKneely Jr. said a man shot and killed Bush while she was walking on the sidewalk in the 2100 block of College Drive. The man walked up to her and began shooting, then fled the scene on foot heading north.

That's all of the details the Advocate has. She didn't live around there. Sounds like somebody had some sort of beef with her.

I’ve never seen a bum fight but they sure do love that corner

roll by after 1:30PM on a hot day. I've been at that corner the last two Saturdays around 2PM and saw fights both times. Not fisticuffs, but shouting and chest bumping type shite.

two black dudes got into on the I10/College exit/entrance ramp last Saturday as well. Looked like a turf war/dispute between the 2 beggars, but the chicken head moves were solid between the two of them.

It’s incredible to me that people still give them cash

It's telling when you see the same person at an intersection for months to years. Giving them $ is clearly not going to help them stop being homeless. It enables them. I feel like most of these people are hopeless.

Yep. Used to buy pot there at LSU. Dangerous place. Its nothing but baby mamas who live there...but of course the tom cats set up shop there.

Hate to see baby toys out like that. And a mile away, people are living at Bocage and enjoying the good life.

Real problem is that abandoned school back there is built on a Super Fund haz mat site.

Not a Superfund Site, but they built the school on top of an old landfill.

When I get shot walking down the street, I hope people don't dig through my life to find reasons why I deserved it.
