This is in a pretty nice area. 500 block of Castle Kirk Drive. Google Maps shows some big houses. Anyone have details?

Authorities say one person is dead after a reported shooting at a Baton Rouge home Thursday.

The shooting was reported shortly before 1 o'clock on Castle Kirk Drive. The neighborhood lies just off Staring Lane between Highland and Perkins Road.

The coroner's office confirmed it was called to the scene.

No other details about the shooting are available at this time.

Staring is one of those iffy areas in South BR. A metro councilman’s son was shot off Staring during a drug deal a few years back.

My guess is someone from the nearby section 8 came by to borrow some stuff from homeowner and homeowner lent him some lead for his troubles.

Or maybe a drug deal gone bad. Used to buy weed on menlo

Yeah. That one was in Mayfair on the "bad" side of Staring. This one is on the other side. There was also the dead body found that was a one off. Drug deal gone bad where they met elsewhere and the shooting/killing happened. They then dumped the car with the dead kid inside on that street off Staring. The car was located on the block where a friend of mine lives.

Dayum. Yea that's Magnolia Woods subdivision. Good people and older houses. But it does just take one renter/bad apple.

Lots of retired folks in that subdivision that will be shaken up by this.

A woman has been arrested in connection with the shooting death of her husband.

the incident happened around 12:40 p.m. on Thursday, March 12. According to the Baton Rouge Police Department, Sullivan Lane, Jr., 52, was shot multiple times inside his home located in the 500 block of Castle Kirk Drive. The home is located off Staring Ln. near Highland Road.

Lane was still alive when emergency reponders arrived, states the arrest report. However, he died at the scene.

Investigators learned that Lindy and her husband had been involved in an argument before the shooting, according to the report. At some point, things got physical. That’s when Lindy allegedly got a gun. The report claims she tried to hit him with the gun to stop the fighting.

“While attempting to strike the victim, the defendant shot the victim once causing him to fall and her to stumble,” states the report. “While stumbling, the defendant shot the victim multiple times.”

Sounds plausible that she accidentally shot him multiple times

At least it was domestic and not just run of the mill gangbanger crap. Sucks for the family though.
