Put the parents of the juveniles in jail, too. Been saying that for years. Maybe that will motivate these people to keep tabs on their own children and make sure they are not out turning into gangsters.

That is the heart of the old Nola financial district. The Cotton Exchange, Federal Reserve, Maritime Building, all right there. The building where the shooting actually occurred, the American Bank Building, is now Section 8 apartments. That area literally used to be the Wall Street of the South.

Maybe I’m missing something. Was the man that was shot connected also?

Jason will make sure nothing sticks. Going to be in some “program” and then back on the streets to carjack and drag someone’s poor grandmother to death.
Maybe, but ATF will likely be Adopting The Felon case shortly over the machine gun situation. That will likely have greater results.

They made it a whole 0 sentences before having a grammatical error. I get that these places can't afford editors anymore, but you would think that "journalists" would at least be competent writers.

Seriously, instead of worrying about that, maybe we should give them shooting lessons and free range time.

As it is, all they're doing is creating unpaid ER visits and hospital stays for 80 percent of the people they aim at.

If they were better shots, murder charges might stick and a pauper's funeral is pennies on the dollar for what surgery and a hospital stay cost us.

It's a real win-win by getting multiple criminals off the streets all at once and saving the taxpayers a lot of money.

I work in the CBD. What is going on is so obvious. There are cars filled with drugs parked in front of all the hotels. They reek of weed. There are young black males hovering around the cars. They are dealing to the tourists. This shooting, like the one in front of the NOPSI hotel a few months ago, is a territory dispute. The smell is so strong that no warrant is needed to have probable cause to search the vehicles. This could be dealt with easily.

You know what would kill that industry.

RECREATIONAL MARIJUANA in Louisiana. Instead of a thug selling it, it could be government taxed.

That's what I'll never understand. They shot someone with a machine gun and are on the hook for "attempted murder" as if they weren't intent on killing the person raining bullets down the street at the person

WWL update on the arrests - these dudes were circling the CBD, probably waiting for their mark to show up while taking a break from carjacking. Sucks to be the victim, knowing that the cops were tracking them the whole time, but maybe they were waiting to catch them in the act of something not so serious.

quote:

Bryceson Jones was taken into custody after officers, already hot on the trail of a gang of suspected carjackers, used a GPS tracking device that had been placed earlier on the pickup truck to follow Jones’ path from the moment of the shooting to a home in eastern New Orleans where he was arrested at about 9 p.m., according to a police report.

The police report also states that detectives had been tracking the Silverado and various suspects connected to a carjacking and six auto thefts along the Poydras corridor. The carjacked vehicle, a Nissan Altima, was pinpointed at the scene of a prior homicide still under investigation, the report states. Just before the shooting Wednesday, officers stated they tracked the Silverado “as it drove through the Poydras Street corridor and circled at least a dozen times.”

WWL

Apparently several victims (including the VW-driving transplant from CO celebrated on the OT a few weeks back) were doing doordash and carjacked at Chick-fil-A on Loyola. I can see the MSNBC headline now - Christian chicken business brings violent crime increase.

No way. New Orleans East?

I thought with all the statues removed from the city, NOE had become a paradise filled with engineering students and doctoral candidates.

I’ve said this for years. Attempted murder sentences are bullshite. If you shoot someone, you’re trying to kill them. If the victim survives because they didn’t hit a vital organ or the surgeons miraculously saved them, it shouldn’t matter. You tried to kill them! You intended to commit murder! Put them away for life for attempted murder.

Have you ever looked back at your posts and done a mental tally on the percentage of times you call people idiots, morons, etc?

You're obviously projecting on the issue of your own inadequacies, lack of education, poor inate intelligence, etc.

Maybe you should take a break and work on yourself. I feel sorry for you.
