Unless you round up every gun, someone who wants to shoot people will still be able to find one.
If taken care of, guns dont just stop working. So stopping the sale of guns wont prevent guns from being out there.

Guns were way easier to get 50 years ago.

Guns aren't the problem. Never have been.
But like I said earlier it's much easier to just ban guns for the easy win while the underlying problem is ignored.
Then the kids move to other means of killing, and people just start scratching their heads.
