CNN.com - not one mention of Islam, but they do have "Shooter was a security guard" as a top headline.
He was a semi-religious Muslim (Not a frequenter of mosques, but a supporter of the caliphate, domineering and abusive husband, oh, and believed all homosexuals should die because two of them kissed within sight of his illegitimate son). He was also a registered Democrat.
I'll go out on a limb and say the media takes up the anti-gay hate crime thread and glosses over the fact that it stems directly from Islam. I'll also guess that his political leanings will be ignored, because they aren't in line with conventional media thinking on the issue of guns.

go watch the station nightclub fire video (or don't cause it is super painful to watch)
It was probably a mad rush to the door which made the doorway useless. Loud music, dark room, and wasted. Probably have no idea whats going on until after its already over

other 49 people are getting killed? That's really small.
Are the totals 103 casualties, with 50 deaths and 53 hospitalized? That's what I saw, so in addition to 50 dead, you have another 53 attempted murders.

The Bible and the Quran have similar views towards the punishment of gays (that they should be put to death).
Obviously the vast majority of Christians don't adhere to that and neither do the vast majority of Muslims.

I'm starting to see some people in Orlando on my facebook feed marking themselves as "safe" as an update for that location
Facebook did that for the Paris attacks as well. Pretty smart.

Out of curiosity do you blame alcohol or the people who consume alcohol on the massive number of deaths caused by DUI's?
Nice straw man.

I don't know what this means...
They didn't have a ton of private rooms.
If people are getting shot in a packed place, what exactly are you going to do?
Yeah, you are right, you just let mass murders happen.

If you're trying to make a point, you're not doing a very good job.

Obama speaking in 5 minutes.
Looking forward to his uniting leadership.

neither do the vast majority of Muslims
The difference, of course, is that their leaders call for it.
As we've seen in the video of the Muslim leader in Sanford, FL from April. And that's not an isolated incidence ESPECIALLY overseas.
The only people calling for the death of gays in Christianity are Westboro. Actually, they don't advocate their death. They just celebrate it and blame all evil on gays. So they have that going for them.

Sadly this will be the way these cowards do their killing. Stake out an unsuspecting location and shoot it up. I know in our area they have caught middle eastern individuals staking out churches to see how their security worked on Sunday morning.

Should there be another thread to handle the press conference?
That way we can follow this thread for actual discussion?

My prayers go out to the victims, their families, and friends. We might disagree with their lifestyles but they were fellow Americans and that we can't overlook.
As for The Station video it is painful to watch but it is instructive as well as to many things of what NOT to do in a similar situation. You watch the video once you'll never forget it as well.
