Weapons were prohibited at the festival. What could possibly go wrong?

Did they actually search and have metal detectors?

I’m all for open care and that “gun free zones” are stupid. However, if it’s actually a secure area with proper barriers and metal detectors for entrees, that’s a major deterrent for average bad guys.

Now...if it was a normal “gun free zone” like a local library, where anyone comes in and does what they please, it’s a horrible idea.

This is such a stupid take. Yeah sure the idea of no gun zones working is dumb as well, but do people honestly think that a regular citizen will be able to keep their cool and locate the shooter while there's a massive slaughter going on?

Better chance than if no one has a gun.

I think his point (or at least my point) is that banning "assault" rifles and making it harder to legally buy guns and ammo isn't going to stop a criminal... it's only going to make a larger firepower gap between criminals and law abiding citizens.

Yeah, a poster named KCT turned me on to it during the last shooting. At first I thought it was hilariously odd but then I was kinda thankful because the guy was basically doing all the leg work for me by aggregating and processing all the info coming in on social media in real time.

Might not be a "massive slaughter" if someone returns fire. A lot of these pussies off themselves the first sign of confrontation.
Regardless, I'd prefer my aim over his...

Unless you're military or a cop you have never seen that shite. Reminds me of all those zombie preppers who act like they're 100% ready but would die almost instantly if it actually happened

Except their have been multiple examples over the last decade
of armed citizens helping end mass shootings with either return fire
or threatening return fire. There is no doubt armed citizens have helped save
Lives whether you like it or not.

Do you think the purpose of personal carry is to go into SWAT mode when there's danger and hunt down an active shooter?

Almost every time they say this and then it turns out to just be the lone shooter. Very very few of these have involved more than one guy. The terrorist couple in CA is one of the few I can think of.
