I really do enjoy the folks who go out of their way to shite on WF's and places similar to it.

Damn, that was the only "good" Wal-Mart. I guess the hood finally realized it was there. It used to be the only Wal-Mart I could run into, get what I needed, and get out of in less than 30 minutes.

And this changed because an empty car got shot in the parking lot?

I lived in Teakwood from '89 to '91 before I upgraded to Castlebrook (nicer apartment but farther from school). Here I am 25 years later and I could hit a driver from my backyard to my Teakwood apartment.

People go to Whole Foods and similar places because "undesirables" don't shop there. They really don't care that the food is overpriced and has negligible health benefits.

It's been steadily going downhill over the past 6 months as more and more shoppers started going there and fewer and fewer registers remained open and/or working. This is basically the last straw.

Oh and they should have put a Target in that location. BR really doesn't need anymore Super or Neighborhood Walmarts.

2 weeks ago, the cashier told me there were going to be switching from 24 hours to 6am-12pm.
Not sure if true or when it will start

This is true. And the quality of pretty much everything prepared "fresh" at BR's Whole Foods has been on a steady decline for the past several years. Also, the meat & fish depts. are about the most inconsistent I've ever experienced in a grocery store anywhere in the country.

However, it could use more traditional grocery stores.

You have Matherne's Supermarket, Calandros, Albertson's & Fresh Market in that general area.

Yup, if you were going to put a grocery store there. Although as my boy Jbeam pointed out, they didnt really need another in that area.

True, I had heard a rumor a few months ago that there was an idea to turn the Gardere area into a hospital district, since there are none south of Perkins

I really had higher hopes for that intersection that didn't involve a GoodWill, RaceTrac, Walmart, and a tire shop. Maybe the Bluebonnet/Nicholson intersection will develop in line with the nicer housing developments in that area.
