You're using the VT shooter as a counterpoint, who used weapons with 10 and 15 round magazines. Those still fall under the definition of high capacity magazines IIRC.
You recall wrong. There is no "definition" because only ignorant politicians try to claim such an arbitrary thing exists in the first place. The VT shooter used mostly 10-rd magazines. The Sandy Hook shooter used 30-rd mags but was dropping them for fresh mags after only firing a few rounds from each. The entire basis of your argument is flawed and based on a very poor understanding of these events.

Enough is e fricking enough. This shite could be dealt with relatively easily by:
1. Create a new type of carry permit: school carry. To get one, you have to undergo a background check and complete a so-many-weeks training course on firearm safety and use. If you have one, you are allowed to concealed carry on public school grounds - no exceptions.
2. Incentivize teachers and other school employees that want to do so to go after #1.
3. Make it public record the employees of public schools that have school carry permits, so that parents can know which schools have school carry employees, then allow the parents to send their kid to a school of their choice. Let them choose between being defenseless against the rare crazy shooter vs. having the more occasional but less damaging insider threat.
Bottom line: students and teachers are on their fricking own and we are denying them the tools to defend themselves.

Whoa slow up hoss. That info doesn’t need to go out. Maybe the percentage of the staff that have cc’s but you don’t name them.

I have another idea too: be a watchful, caring parent

So... have schools announce which are "firearm-free zones" like we do now to encourage future school shooters?

'm not sure this is true.
One is a fundamental right. The other is a privilege, although I suppose that turns on your interpretation of Amendment Dos.
I suppose I have to add this qualification: I own guns, and I support your right to own them too. But if you need a license to make any meaningful use of a car, you should need one to buy a purpose-built instrument of bodily harm.***
We're all repeating tired tropes here, but it bears repeating that we're the only country where this happens. That isn't a coincidence. Say what you will about the media, but we aren't the only country that glorifies criminals.
Not sure I follow you here. Are you saying when comparing voting and firearm ownership, one is a right and one is a privilege? Which one is which?
As for licensing, the minute you license something, you give the government the power to deny your right to that something.
Therefore, infringement. Any licensing of firearms is a blatant infringement on the 2nd. Period.

Yep. Very very important but lost on most.

I mean a teacher carrying a gun is not going to "prevent" shootings, maybe stop the death toll from being 10 and instead more like 4 or 5.
Single entry points and metal detectors is a more realistic prevention method.
I support 2nd amendment but this solution that gets thrown out every time of having professor sebastion from English 101 carrying a gun he barely knows how to use beyond a qualification class seems retarded to me. Not to mention it doesnt "prevent" anything
Solutions that are designed to react to a given problem when and only when it happens, are not really solutions, at least not good solutions.

You're right. How many rounds you can get down range and how efficiently you can reload is irrelevant in a mass shooting.

I’ve been at work all day, haven’t been following. What are the facts in this case?
All I can gather so far is that some dude came and shotgunned and pistoled people at his school to death.
Some POS who got pissed over a girl and stole his dad’s guns.

This is a perfect example of why nothing ever changes. This is the kind of logic with which we're dealing. It's unfortunate.

You've basically got it all. Seriously, that's the gist of it right now.

Ignorance level 10, get the fk out of here with this bs. If you cant see how these 2 things are not the same, then you dont deserve to be part of the discussion.
And that's coming from someone who thinks the 2nd amend should stay in tact and this risk is part of the price of true freedom.
Tards like you clutter the discussion with ridiculousness

Eh, i’ve Said before that a 12g with buckshot is optimal for a mass shooting at close range with soft targets.
You’ve got the pistol to hold off attackers while you reload and buckshot is devastating over a confined area.
The thing here is the intent to kill, and kill indiscriminately. Not the method. The method is simply a tool.
Once the switch has flipped to kill mode it’s only a matter of time before the deed is done.

If I were trying to conduct a mass shooting, I'd much rather be using an ar 15 with a ton of preloaded magazines, over a shotgun pistol combination.
Conversely if I were in the spot where someone was trying to conduct a mass shooting, I'd much rather be running from a shotgun pistol combo than a ar 15.
Maybe the first handful of victims would go down much easier with a shotgun, but the top end of the body count is limited

You’re shitting me. So basically he had a bunch of soft targets with zero impediment?
People grouped like scared prey?
