I have had Shingles twice. I am 58. it was painful. I couldnt sleep really or get comfortable for about 10 days. Was it unbearable? No. Had it on my scalp and down nu back and wrapped around my waist. Everyone has a different threshold for pain and bullshite. I hear the vaccine can be awesome. At this point, i think I will pass

Doc recommends that I take the shingles vax, Shingrix.
Took it years ago and I'm still alive.

Most doctors push whatever their overlords tell them to and are more worried about treating symptoms than curing ailments. Your trust is very misplaced.
Not sure why the downvotes. The insurance companies and administrative suits greatly influence their judgment to an uber high degree. Time to get rid of those people so the doctors can be freed to do their thing.

I had shingles on my torso in college. Honestly didn’t think it was that bad.

I vote yay.
Wife (no pics) and I both took it recently. Both in our 50s. Felt worse after the 2nd dose, but we were warned ahead of time.
You do not want shingles. Ever.

Imagine the nerve roots are exposed. Then even a small gust of wind softly brushes that area. Doesn't matter if it's covered by clothes. Extreme agony is what comes your way. Get the shot.
I had it years ago and my Dr at the time didn't prescribe pain meds. I thought it was just a rash. He casually tells me it's shingles. Never heard of it before. Then a couple of days later, bam. Hurt so damn bad and I called that Dr. And he gave me some patches for it. Didn't work and found a Dr that gave me pain meds. This was during the busiest time of year for work and taking off was a no go.

Been around for decades, probably want to get the shot.
If you live to 80 and get shingles, you'll have to take opiate pain pills and can only sleep sitting up in a chair, at best in a recliner.

Nay, I don’t get “vaccines” for something I’ve already had… shingles wasn’t too bad for me

Had shingles recently on the scalp and face, around the eye, and it was straight-up misery. I still have lingering effects months later.
Was at risk of losing eyesight. Had to stay on IV antivirals for a week, and now oral antivirals and steroid drops in my eye for a year.
Get the vax!
