I googled because I didn’t believe you…. Well I’ll be damned you were correct.

They could easily make a par 3 9 hole course with the land and add lights for night golf like they did for the range

It’s sad what’s become of Sherwood and Broadmoor. My grandfather was a member at SFCC. In the 70s when I was a kid, my brother and I would swim all day while my grandfather played golf then hung at the 19th hole. The burgers at the club were insane. That may have been one of the last places in town with a high diving board. Damn I miss those days.

They may eventually build a 9 hole executive course.

I grew up one street away on the boulevard. Played dozens of free rounds on Maintenance Monday as a kid.

Made Lots of cash from golf balls I retrieved from the canal and ponds.

We would hit the pond on 11th at night. It would turn your toenails yellow digging in the silt bottom, but tons of golf balls made their way in there. Ha! Good memories.

I was in elementary school at Sherwood Elementary that borders the course. When Arnold played they let all the kids go to the fence line to watch him play. That was mid to late 60’s

I lived on Sheraton across from the 4th hole. I hunted for golf balls during the week and sold them on the 4th hole on SAT and SUN mornings. Back in the 70's. I used the money for fishing equipment. Good times.

Many won’t know who that is, but you can find out if you look up on the Google, just punch in “names of people burning in hell for eternity “

It is sad. Both were beautiful areas. I grew up in Goodwood way back when Town Centre was a small airport, then an Arabian Farm, and Fun Fair Park existed, and on occasion get back to that area. It’s “home” to me as is BR, even though I don’t live there anymore. It won’t be long bf it and Goodwood and that area is ruined based on what I saw one Friday night at Town Centre. Baton Rouge was great back in the day. Good schools, reasonable property, and safe. At least as a child it seemed that way. It’s been ruined.

I thought Independence Park was the small airport? They have a street there called Airway.
