Sharp Road Park
That basketball court was the worst yet also the best. One 12 foot goal, one 6ft goal, short court. Short goal in the middle. Double rims that shredded your hands. Good times.

Sharp road park and the park in Broadmoor that is across the street from the old woman's hospital. That was some of the best 8 foot goal basketball that white people ever played

The Broadmoor park really kept up for a park in an older neighborhood.
Phil, the barber cut my hair for years.
He like to bet on the pony’s.
Started cutting my hair in NBR when I was kid. Then he moved to the Monterey Blvd and Choctaw barber shop. Then ended up at the shop Oscar is at. He taught me how to bet on the horses he called it playing the ponies.
Cortana Mall was just open and a happening place on the weekends.
Cooly’s nightclub or Floyd Brown’s in the corner of the Albertsons parking lot Florida & Sherwood. I believe the other club was on Airine near Old Hammond Hwy. North Sherwood was a two lane road with big ditches.
Sizzler steak house was across from Albertsons which is now a strip mall behind Walgreens on Florida & Sherwood.
Jailaire, was fairly new when I went there for a short time before moving to California. I guess at the time it was the last high school built in BR in the 1970’s.
The biggest question is what was under those big piles of dirt down North Sherwood at the old Army Depot?

I grew up in Oak Crest about a mile from that Superstore on Airline and Greenwell Springs. Thanks for this thread, I recall a majority of these joints. I remember Daquiri Magic on Sharp and Florida, and the owner of Nooley’s had a bar right across Florida Blvd. (I do not remember the name).

In the mid to late 1980s there use to be a rock bar on corner of So Sherwood Forest Blvd and Old Hammond Hwy - if I recall correctly. Does anyone remember the name of it?
I had a former Boyfriend that I saw in there right before he past away from alcohol poisoning or something like that. His name was Jake Jacobson - or at least that is what he told me. I was 16/17 yrs of age and he was in mid to late 20s. He was a Harley biker living with other bikers in a neighborhood off Florida Blvd I think, Near Europe's [Pizza] Restaurant.
I was wondering - if I could find out what ?really happened to him - it would be unbelievable since all my info is vague.
Thanks
Sounds like someone wants to look up old pics of her biker boyfriend to flick the bean during her self quarantine...

Any Audubon Eagles on here?
Started 1st grade in '91, went all the way through 5th grade. Always thought I'd go to that middle school next door (can't think of the name), but my parents made me go to Episcopal.
That was a great school.

Were you on that team? Other than my Mom's, the worst funeral I've ever been to.
We split up for high school, with most at Broadmoor or Belaire, and me at Catholic. It was tough to play against those guys
I miss you AC! Who is Kodiac?

Was a long time member of SFCC, got out right when it started going downhill in the late 90’s.
