Moar subdivisions being thrown everywhere!!! Who gives a shite about traffic infrastructure?

There are a couple subdivisions going up near my neighborhood. That's a good 200-300 more cars to the morning and evening commutes. frick that shite.

The AP really needs to stop growing.

The growth can't be stopped now, it's already here. What we have to do is find the best way to plan for future growth and improve our infrastructure to more meet the current and future demands. We had a chance to start that process with this most recent election season. A big part of David Vitter's platform revolved around reforming the way DOTD is run and funded, to help get more state highway improvements off of the backlog and into reality. At the same time, 2 out of the 3 candidates running for Ascension Parish President were running on platforms for improving infrastructure and managing growth. Though both Loar and Matassa had differing opinions on how to do that, their goals were similar: better managed growth, holding developers accountable, and modernization of infrastructure.

None of those candidates won their races. Vitter was trounced by John Bel Edwards who ran on a platform of having not f&$ked Hookers in DC. Loar got bounced in the primary and Cointmont lost to Matassa in the runoff by just 150 votes.

We deserve our continued suckage, fellow AP'rs. We get the results we deserve.

And that is a good thing. Some people apparently just can't see it. That is a good, safe facility with plenty of room to grow and coming at a time when others are finishing up will help continue the upswing of the regions economy.

Didn't they do this last year with the GTL Plant in Convent only to shut it down a week later?

I really really hate the fact that my vote as a very clued in observer of politics and who the right policy minded candidates are counts the same as a vote from a casual observer of politics and bases his/her vote on soundbites and feelings.

Makes me sick.

The framers of the constitution were onto something when they allowed only male property owners to vote.

Only 20 jobs created? That's a small unit.

I'd be 100% for only allowing male property owners to vote again.

No, weak centralized planning. Zoning and strategic widening of roads. Also, building more roads to create more inter-connectivity, giving drivers more options to get where they want to go.

LA 30, 74, 73, 44, 42, 431, 70, ect none of these roads have any business being less than 4 lanes wide with turn lanes where appropriate.

We need more interstate overpasses and off ramps.
Perkins/Bluff Road interchange would take a ton of pressure off of Highland/Perkins and LA 73. An exit at Cornerview could help take pressure off of Highway 30 and seperate 18-wheeler traffic from outlet mall traffic. An overpass connecting Robert Wilson Road with Boudreaux Road while making that an exit just for Tanger shoppers would greatly decrease traffic on 30 while increasing connectivity.

There is so much that could be done, but none of it will happen with the current regimes in charge at the state and local level.
