Good stuff. I heard a rumor that they are considering an expansion at the Convent plant as well
I haven’t heard this. They’re having enough trouble with the FCCU since the turnaround. H-Oil tripped recently, as well.

Ford is going to have to add another shift at the Kentucky truck plant.

South Louisiana doesn't have exclusive rights to cancer. One sister died of it in California last year and another in Idaho 2 months ago.
So yay green states.
fricking moron.

That has nothing to do with a decision on adding a new unit out there.
Shell wants to invest and there is a lot of land there.

My condolences to your sisters.
You can continue working at a plant and being a higher risk to carcinogens

Oh, there’s a ton. I wasn’t doubting you, I just haven’t heard anything about it.
I’m not in projects, though.

Yeah, it may not happen now that they have chosen this Geismar project.
There was a rumor about a coker or co-gen being built at Convent.
Norco has not available land, so they are out of luck.

FWIW, money will go to fixing/improving H-Oil and FCCU before any new unit is built. FCCU was patched a few years ago because they were going to shut it down and send that feed to Norco. Since that plan was scrapped, I'd expect FCCU to be getting major funding.

They just did a major turnaround in FCCU

I don't work in a plant. I'm a timber farmer. Maybe I'll get cancer from a pine tree.

Some operatin motherfrickers gonna run a $1.3b unit with 23 hands
Well, technically, it would be 46 hands, unless they're hiring some amputees.

23 permanent jobs?
Is it worth the tax break they are getting?
You have to wonder.

You have to wonder.
Do they pay any sales or inventory tax on the materials produced/sold?
Also, I'm sure those new residents will pay their fair share of property and sales taxes themselves.
