One doesn't have to believe in a deity to believe you should treat your fellow man the way you want to be treated.
I'm an atheist too, but believe in the golden rule.

100% agree

Exactly. St. Thomas Aquinas called it "natural law".

Where are y'all from. Have you ever been a victim of violence?

You're completely wrong... at least, in this thread.

did you deem that? were you tackled in your own home and have your arm broken? Are you 70yo and have adrenaline racing through your body?
She wasn't even in his house anymore, and was actively running away. We have a judicial system for a reason, not so people or cops can be judge jury and executioner. The crime didn't fit death once he was no longer in danger.

There are punishments for that. I'm not sure exactly what they are because I'm not a criminal lawyer, but I'm pretty sure the death penalty wasn't going to be on the table at her potential criminal trial.

Les Miles BFF would say "Thank you ma'am. May I have another beatdown?"

The punishments stop them the other 3 times?

My point being, there aren't many absolutes in life, and that saying is another example of that. Is it a good guideline? Sure. But by no means is it the rule, IMO.

I was bullied and beat up as a kid, should I have killed them?

If it is revealed that they were running away with some of his stuff, does that justify him?
Posted on 7/24/14 at 4:20 pm to Jcorye1
Have you had a gun to the back of your head? You ever fear for your life?
Posted on 7/24/14 at 4:20 pm to bradwieser
That interview sure as shite isn't going to help him
That's the definition of zero fricks given. They will probably play the he's 80 years old, senile card.

New Orleans and yes.
Now answer my question; do only victims have valid opinions on the crimes they were subject to?

So I just want to get this straight.
Are you advocating the use of deadly force in any case where the perpetrator has a prior record?
Sort of like a "1 strike and your dead" rule?
Posted on 7/24/14 at 4:21 pm to jacks40
No but it sure as frick will put things in perspective quick

Not reading the whole thread. Just wanted to drop in a say:
1) I feel for the old man, he will likely do time. I HATE thieves.
2) I'm against abortion in all forms, but fail to see what difference her pregnancy makes in the eyes of the law. How can abortion be legal but cancelling the life of an unborn fetus is not?....
Is it a choice or a human? Which is it? If it's a human, why is it ok to terminate it (with extreme prejudiced) even if it is the result of rape or incest? Still human.
