did you deem that? were you tackled in your own home and have your arm broken? Are you 70yo and have adrenaline racing through your body?
I think the law will deem that, as will most reasonable people

This is why you should never open your mouth after a shooting. Just say, "I have nothing to say until I speak with a lawyer."
I've always heard "I was scared for my life." Then shut the hell up. But anyway glad this guy remembered to double tap.

here is a novel frickin idea....dont break into someones dwelling and attack them and you wont die. How fricking difficult is that?

see you would be dead because she begged and you fell for it. the old man fricked up by talking but putting her down was the right move.
why in your hypo does he have to either kill her or drop his gun? He had more choices.
He can't keep his gun trained on her till the police arrive and take the shot if she does make a move for your hypothetical hidden gun?

What if she was psychic and could explode his brain by thought?
What if she had a rocket launcher up her arse?

the dude is 80, his reactions probably aren't great and he is likely in a lot of pain because of a broken collar bone. He kinda had to put her down right away.
the longer you let someone with a weapon/possible weapon stay alive the longer they could find the moment to kill you.

Two wrongs don't make a right.
People love this saying, but I think it's bullshite. There are times that 2 wrongs(if you consider retaliation a wrong) certainly do make it right. That saying is something you're told when you're younger, but as you age, you realize what complete and utter bullshite it can be.
Jesus and his whole turn the other cheek thing is stupid.

None of these are a justification. They're excuses.
Edited bc you obviously are a very intelligent person using ridiculous examples to refute a likely scenario.

Old man will most likely be charged. I honestly don't see why he wouldn't be. I'm not licensed in Pennsylvania, but I'm pretty sure they don't have the Texas Chuck Norris rule.
ETA: I guess this was in Cali.

I'm assuming sarcasm, but yeah, it is. BTW, I'm a non-believer, atheist if you prefer. Jesus references mean nothing to me.

No he didn't and you are making up and assuming things to fit your point.
To argue your point though, his broken collarbone and being 80 is somewhat offset by the first bullet he put in her.

Not directly related to the current topic just pointing out a likely correlation to the ideology of one poster.
