My wife used to bug me for updates on road trips until I shared my location. Now she leaves me alone. It makes her feel better and saves me the trouble.
Reduces distractions of phone calls and texts while driving just to get updates like this or even more locally if just checking to see if one of you is still stuck at work or stuck in bad traffic.
For those who think it’s trust issue than why not trust your wife or husband with ability to quickly see your location without distracting you during a drive and in most cases without seeing any historical data of location.

Buddy of mine had this, he caught his wife cheating because randomly she would turn her location off.

My children are under 9, the frick I don’t.

We’ve shared locations for several years now, came in really handy in January ‘24 when I was involved in a pretty serious motorcycle accident 150mi or so away from home. After catching a helicopter ride to Lafayette General, and critical condition, she was able to be better prepared for my condition when she finally was able to see me.

I also wouldn’t want my kids tracking my every move, so it’s not based on insecurity. There is just an inherent ick factor to it for me.
I guess I just don't understand how there's any factor to it at all. It's not something we think about unless we are doing something where we want to be sure we can access their location in the event that something goes wrong.
I legitimately forget that my wife can access my location if she goes to the last time I shared with her. It's just not on my mind.

Meh, I don’t care if she knows where I am or not. It’s not like she can dislike me more than she already does

I turn it on for that type of thing, and it expires after a few hours..
I find the tracking adult children to be the weirdest. No way in hell I would have allowed that when I was in college, and we had a damn serial killer on the loose. I guess maybe if you could turn it on and off without your parents knowing, but I’m pretty sure they can’t do that. My parents didn’t need to know that I was going to raves in New Orleans and not getting back to Baton Rouge until 8 AM. Give your kids a little privacy.

I have lide 360 on my phone. My friend's wife made me put it on when I started solo traveling and solo sailing.

Yeah, cause find my iPhone didn’t do that already. Life360 was diamond level marketing to paranoid women all over the country.

I don’t mind sharing location. We’re on the road a good bit, so it’s nice just peaking in and making sure she’s getting where she needs to be.

We use life 360 family plan ….have no plans to cheat and nothing to hide so it doesn’t bother me.

When you have a teenager, errebody on Life360. That’s just the way it is.
Posted on 8/2/25 at 8:55 pm to pelicanpride
Who cares. If you want to then do it. If not then don't.

Damn near every organization and company in the US is tracking and spying on you continuously, why not your spouse?
Posted on 8/2/25 at 9:01 pm to pelicanpride
I'm with you. Had life360 for a bit but then never reconnected it when I got a new phone several years ago.
Always found it a bit strange, but if you want to share location with everyone, have at it.

Do you close the bathroom door when you shite? You got nothing to hide.
You idiots think you’re assuaging your wives anxiety, but you are just pouring diesel on it.

Once my kids started driving we signed up for life 360 to be able to keep up with her. We are all in it. Doesn't bother me because I pretty much go to work and go home.

JMO but…….to me it is common sense to know where everyone is, but……in today’s World you people have little common sense.??????

I guess I look at it from the perspective of when I was going up, but I remember the first time someone I know was talking about their son, who was a teenager at the time (this might have been 6-8 years ago) and checking her phone to see where he was.. I just kept thinking "this is insane. I couldn't imagine having my parents being able to see where I was at any given moment".
From the parent's side I get it, but I still can't buy into the idea of being able to see where someone is all the time. We already leave a trail as long as our cell phones are on us.. And when we purchase things not using cash, there are cameras everywhere. It just seems weird that we have gotten to a place were people can see where other people are at any time. Its something I don't think I will ever get used to.
