Dude, I had to change policies in May because they were trying to bump me from $318 to $488. Reduced coverage and settled on a $380 plan. Now they are trying to bump me to $512 starting Jan 1. Have to reduce coverage again to stay in the $350 range. I'm 31 years old. In shape. Don't do anything crazy. Don't ever go to the doctor. It's insane

This is what I don't get, where do they get the rates from? Like I always assumed it started at the same amount for people and increased like if you go to the doctor a lot, but clearly that isn't the case.

Like I'm 26 and haven't had to do health insurance myself for very long, but I also don't ever go to the doctor, don't have any prescriptions, but they decided what my rate was, which was a lot less than yours.

It doesn't make sense to me lol.

Me, my wife and two kids. Premium is around $12,000 per year.

Deductible is around $6,000.

Same situation, $14.3k.

That was after I did a group plan through my LLC. If I bought an almost identical plan with a slight higher deductible as an individual it was $16k.

Premium - $300/month for health, dental, life insurance, STD, LTD, vision. includes wife
Deductable - $600/year

But its a PPO, so they pay for 90% of everything if I am in network.

I just changed to Blue POS. I don't think an insurance coverage has been more aptly named.
