re: Settle a drunken argument: Tyson vs Bruce Lee no holds barred KO match

Norris jokes aside. Chuck Norris, in his prime, was a BAD BAD dude and a world champion multiple times over.
No holds barred? A simple boxer is at a huge disadvantage against a prime Norris.

Again.
Tyson has Lee beat in brute strength and size. That is it.

frick Tyson having to "catch" Lee. Lee has to get near hit to tap him. I think Lee would score a few. But if Tyson grabbed him or caught that leg it would be OVER right away.
Sorry, but a 145 lb guy really couldn't hurt Tyson without getting good kicks on him. That would also spell his doom.
I don't see much of a dance here. Just Tyson slowly stalking him and not pay attention to those annoying little slaps. Finally he would catch up to him and fricking destroy his passion to breathe.

Only if he could land a punch. Which he couldn't.

He would have a very very hard time. Tyson was fast for a boxer. Lee is on a completely different level.

Today's top MMA guys would destroy both Tyson and Bruce Lee. Reason? They didn't know wrestling.
Lee knew wrestling. Part of his training regiment was grappling.
Do you know anything about the guy?

Like Tyson didn't have good punching mechanics? lawlz?
That's the real question, isn't it? Did he when he fought Michael Spinks? Yes.
Did he when he fought Evander Holyfield? No.
Tyson did not age well - and you would have to catch him right at that 1986 to 1989 window to have THE Mike Tyson of legend.
And, for all those gaudy 1 round knockouts, Tyson's first "real" pro fight was Jesse Ferguson, who was DQed for excessive holding in the sixth after Tyson broken his nose in the fifth. After the Ferguson fight, he fought pretty much name fighters (only a couple of fillers) up to and including Carl "The Truth" Williams before losing to Buster Douglas in Tokyo. That's why I put that narrow window.
After Williams, he went 8-3 over his next 11 fights, then 5-3 (2 NC) over his final 10.
And that's another factor working against Tyson - he rarely went the distance, either way. Out of 50 wins, only 5 were decisions - in all 6 of his losses, he was knocked out, TKO'd or disqualified.
An average Tyson fight was 4 to 5 rounds.

I am more convinced than ever now after seeing that. He struggles to put away guys in his own 150lb weight category. From the talk in this thread, you'd think he would demolish or kill every one of those opponents in 10 seconds.

Now Tyson, the most decorated heavyweight of all time, is just a simple boxer huh? Jesus...

Well, I can get a good look at a steak by sticking my head up a bull's arse. But, I'd rather take the butcher's word for it.

If Lee gets close to Tyson he's going down. Tyson was not slow and if you take the gloves off of him he would absolutely kill Bruce Lee.

Is he going to just walk up and poke Tyson in the chest to death?

I love how people assume "145 pounds? lol what a pussy. He couldn't hit hard"

You can find, online, where he would bend 200 pound punching bags in half knocking them to the roof with those kicks.
Yeah, but punching bag no hit back.

Good post. Tyson's weakness was WELL known: lack of conditioning. Which doesn't bode well against Lee who was world famous for his conditioning.
Lee could literally run circles around Tyson until Tyson ran out of breath.

Seeing as how most of the fights he had weren't recorded (because the Chinese were hardcore about keeping those fighting styles secret) you're going to have a hard time finding actual fighting videos.
The Chinese were extremely pissed at him for making movies with some of his knowledge.
