I love how this new phenomenon also doesn't seem to give a crap about the rights
Of people with allergies to those animals. That is especially true in places like restaurants where it is easiest in many ways to be affected.

How do you prove that it's not a service animal?

ETA: I'll answer for you. You can't, because you can't require them to provide documentation, and a service dog can be any breed. All the dog owner has to do is answer two questions:

Is the dog a service dog?

What task does the dog perform?

This service dog thing has definitely been taking advantage of. Especially on the plane and Disney.

Everybody seems to have a "service" dog these days. They range from giant greyhounds to chihuahuas from what I've seen. It's pretty laughable

Serious question. As a business owner, could you sidestep this ADA bullshite with the fake dogs by simply telling the person (not the dog) you don't want their business? Not saying you kick a guy in a wheelchair out of a business because he has no legs but maybe I don't want to serve alcohol to someone who is emotionally unstable (needs a support animal) in my bar?

I could not get over the amount of "service" dogs I saw in California. Seemed like every fifth person I saw had one. Lots at the airport too.

I don't know the answer, but I hope you can. Saw a "service" dog that was yapping away at some kids and the owner gave me a "it's a service dog" look as I gave her a "wtf you've got to be kidding me" look.

Not sure about your graph; huskies are known to be the complete opposite of aggressive dogs. Were they attacking cats?

I've met 2 huskies, both very high energy but friendly as can be. But huskies are on prohibited breed lists for a lot of homeowners insurance companies, so there must be some kind of history of reports of husky attacks, even if rare.

Bull mastiffs are on that graph too. Met a older guy who was an older veteran that just lost his wife and had a bull mastiff as an emotional support dog. Probably the calmest, most obedient dog I've ever met. Its been a while so I don't remember all the details but I remember him telling me the training was pretty extensive

That chart leaves off some contenders.. ever see how many disfiguring dog attacks happen by Chihuahuas and other small breeds?

I think you'd be opening yourself up to lawsuits with that move.

The dogs are trained to be able to smell the patient's breath and tell the difference between too low and too high blood sugar levels and alert accordingly.

About a month ago, the wife, daughter and I go to IKEA to get some supplies. My daughter is 1 y/o and we walk upstairs to find a complete moron wandering around with his wife and a pit bull "service dog". It was utterly ridiculous to see and literally every other person, especially those with children were walking around to get away from this couple and their "service dog". I am no fan of pits in all honesty but understand they are very harshly criticized. That said a pit is not a service dog and has no place being trotted around in a store full of families especially those with young children. What the hell is wrong with some people?

You and all the pussies on this board need to STFU about this... I have seen someone get their hand fricked because he tried to break up a lab and German Shepard. A Pit Bull is not for everyone and there are morons who own them ,but in the right home they are really great dogs. Any medium or large breed dog can turn aggressive due to poor/no socialization, little to no exercise, and poor/no training.

Your daughters do not need a dog because of diabetes.

I'm getting tired of this "service dog" crap too. Seeing eye dogs for the blind are the only real service dogs, the rest are made-up bullshite.

My brother has a pit service dog...

It is well trained, heels when around children and is very loving...

The cautionary part is that the animal CAN kill a human...

I have mixed thoughts on this, but we let excon child rapists walk through stores with children, too...

So here is an animal that CAN, but doesn't...versus an animal that CAN and does

It's all how you're raised... (or programmed)

What if the owner has a different very real physical disability?
