start by quitting dairy. could be the lactose.

For bad gas? Try some diet/lifestyle changes for a month before going to a doctor, paying money, and then have to do a colonoscopy and other tests.

This was my first thought. My brother started having god awful gas when he reached his mid 30s. He finally went to a dr and they diagnosed him as lactose intolerant
