If you guys think divorce is tough, just wait until your SO gets diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and you have to watch her die. Its been six years and I still feel aniety and depression. I doubt it will ever go away.

Damn. Hat’s off to you for continuing to put one foot in front of the other. Can’t even imagine.

before the constant anger and sadness goes away? I’m talking about the crushing anxiety and severe sadness?

Ain't no fricking post or advice gonna make you feel better. Only time will heal. For me it took 13 months. Clouds clear and life starts over. You'll never forget it but it won't hurt anymore. Until then. Don't do anything too stupid.

Its been almost 7 years for me. I left and initiated the divorce. The gut wrenching pain, took a year or more for me. But the hole in my heart and soul, is still there. It changed me, dont think I will ever be the person I was. But you move on man... Time is truly a salve if not a healer!

It took me about 6 months to get back to some semblance of normalcy. I lost 25 pounds, couldn’t eat, sleep or stay focused at work for more than 10 minutes at a time.

I’ve told others that it’s very similar to experiencing the death of a close family member. You have to go through all the stages of grief.

I eventually went to my Doctor and got something that allowed me to sleep. That was the starting point to recovery. If you can’t sleep at night, you can’t function.

At the time I couldn’t believe that it would ever get better. It does and so will you. BTW...I was married for 23 years, 3 children and she screwed the local assistant middle school principal. I wound up with full custody’s, the home and she pays me child support. Yes, I realize I’m the exception to the norm.

Hope you feel better soon.

Time heals all wounds, man. If the house is too big for just you then move out, a change of scenery may help instead of looking at a house full of memories. Dont do what I did and go into a drinking binge for about 4 months, nailing anything with a heartbeat and dont try to replace her in a week either by jumping into another relationship. Best just to ride it out, find something to keep you busy and just let the time work itself out.
