This is the kind of stuff they're pulling just for the incorporation - when the day comes to form a new school district, that's when you're really going to see some crazy shite going on.

I agree with you, but I think the animosity is grown that the people of st. George want to govern themselves now

Smarter legislation would be to give St. George its own ISD.
Well, we tried that already and Ms. Colomb said there had to be a city first.

To be fair, it'll take a parish-wide vote to get a new school system and supposedly that's what this is all about.

I think it's a statewide vote.

Yes, but it's also a parish-wide vote, amongst other things.

parish-wide vote on St. George
Yea but it's too late to change the rules. You see, the only people that voted for this were the people within the boundaries of St George. You cant change the rules after the fact. Certain demographics of the democratic (socialist) party are not educated enough to grasp this concept.

It’s legal to change them but scummy as hell.
Sloth hasn’t scheduled the vote yet and is camping on the petition to delay it as long as possible.
If this bill passes and is signed into law before the vote is schedule, the changes will apply to this vote.
And I guarantee you if that happens that JBE loses in November.

What are the rules for recalling a Senator? Someone in her district should start the petition. It's "merely democracy."

City secessionists?
fricking bitch should be jettisoned from the Legislature for this degree of stupidity.

Central wasnt responsible for a shitload of tax dollars used by BR to pay their bills. It was a lot but not tens of millions like St George.

Nah baw, just petition for annexation with your neighbors after incorporation.

Yes state-wide for the MFP dollars to be allocated to a new ISD because it requires a constitutional amendment. The boundaries to the Southeast Baton Rouge ISD have already been signed into law by Jindal.

When the StG stuff started a few years ago it had no chance. But all the dumb sh*t going on with EBRP leadership has basically guaranteed victory for you guys. The day of reckoning is coming...and the roaches know it...

quote:Nah, he unwittingly lit the spark. In a way it was Kip who started this way back when he was a Sen., when Central wanted it's own school district and he told them to become a city. Kip was the one who hired the ROV that disqualified so many signatures for no reason. Kip was the one who approached the hospitals, the Mall and the Casino about annexing in, but skirted around Gardere and other residential areas to get to those places.
Kip Holden would've kept Baton Rouge together.

Not so. We HAD the signatures on the first effort. The ROV started disqualifying signatures for no reason and stalled the certification until TBR scared up enough withdrawals to get it was nullified. SG took the ROV to court and Wilson Fields (Wrongly) told them they had no grounds. It could have been appealed, but in the end the case would have been put back in Fields' court. They decided to save their money and try again in 2 yrs. I agree though that the shite going on now only made it easier.
